It's a new venture for us, aimed at anyone who'd like to play cricket at a gentler pace - and it's free..

Together Through This Test
We may be missing our cricket teas this season but the ECB's Cricket Tea-A-Thon is encouraging cricket clubs and community groups to do what they can, to support in the provision of food. In Gosport, local food providers are currently delivering over 300 food parcels each week to families across the town, many of whom have been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis.
We've officially signed up with the ECB to become a food collection point for the Gosport Food Partnership as part of the 's Tea-A-Thon campaign 2020.
We'll be setting up a collection point at the club from this Friday (between 9am - 10.30am) and then on through the weekend during games. If you're able to donate non perishable food products such as tinned meat, fish, fruit, soup, pasta, tea, coffee, sugar etc or toiletries such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, baby products etc we'll collect them all up and distribute to food providers across the town . A collection point will clearly be labelled on arrival marked .

Alongside food collections, the ECB is encouraging us all to enjoy a cricket tea at home or outside with friends (in line with social distancing of course) this Friday on Day 2 of the 2nd Test Match between England and the West Indies at Old Trafford. They'd love us to share photos and videos of our teas using .

We're sure you'll join with us in wishing Ron Cross MBE a very happy 100th birthday today. It's a very special day for Ron, his family and for all of us here at GBCC.
Ron is an absolute legend in the cricket world and very dear to us here at GBCC where he played an instrumental part in setting up the club in 1966 and pretty much set up the colts section - coaching well into his 80s. Ron was also instrumental in getting the Council to plant the trees that line the pathway between pitches giving shade to many a cricket fan over the years.

Yesterday we delivered the birthday video, cards and messages sent in by Gosport Borough club members, former colleagues from the wider cricket world, members of Ron's Bowls Club and veterans from the First Light Trust. It's clear that Ron is loved by many. We're now looking forward to the arrival of Ron's bench in the very near future and getting together with him and with his friends to celebrate over a Cricket lunch.
