🏆 Oppositions MOTM - Zach. A real handful, full of running and always a threat to Cramlington.

🏆 Coaches MOTM - Tommy. Two fantastic finishes on top of all his hard work, won the game for the Wanderers.

Wideopen Wanderers 3-2 Cramlington Juniors Whites

An eventful morning at Seaton Burn Welfare when we welcomed Cramlington for game week 3.

Wideopen started off well and on the front foot. This resulted in Zach winning a penalty after a strong run down the right, which allowed Lucas to step up and put the Wanderers 1-0 up.

After this, it was an even game before the half time whistle sounded and we still lead 1-0 at half time.

At half Cramlington changed the way they played and this started to cause us a lot of problems. Cramlington then scored from a left wing cross to level the game up at 1-1.

Cramlington were now on the front foot and were awarded a penalty minutes later. A fantastic penalty save from George kept the score at 1-1.

Cramlington then took the lead with a well taken shot from distance, which took a slight deflection and sailed into the top left corner.

Into the last 10 minutes, after a few changes, we started to get a grip of the game again. This resulted in a right wing cross, that fell for Tommy and he finished it brilliantly across the keeper, making it 2-2.

With only 5 minutes left, we kept on pushing. Brilliant pressure from Gabi, closed down the goalkeeper and the ball fell for Tommy again. He calmly placed the ball into an open goal from about 20 yards out, making the score 3-2.

A fantastic comeback win, a brilliant attitude from the boys and a never give up approach gave them a brilliant win.

Our two Man of the Match winner from tonight victory over North Shields.

🏆 Oppositions MOTM Zach - A right handful all night. Strong runs, lead the line well and scored another well taken goal. A defenders nightmare.

🏆 Coaches MOTM Gabriel - A fantastic night with two well taken goals. But without those goals he still would have been MOTM. His work rate, pressing and hassling of the defenders was exactly what we wanted.

Wideopen Wanderers 4-0 North Shields

A first home game of the season and a chance to bounce back from our opening day shambles away Jarrow.

An impressive display and loads of positives moving forward. A brilliant and well earned clean sheet was the cherry on top of the cake.

Gabriel scored his first two goals for the club, Zach scored his second of the season and we rounded it off with Tom’s first goal for Wideopen.

A fantastic additional training session on Wednesday night at Seaton Burn.

In the pouring rain, it was one of the best passing and moving session we’ve ever had. The boys are getting better and better and more comfortable with the ball at their feet.
