Off to wedding this weekend, where she is marrying the lovely Steven 💙

And while I fully intend to enjoy every minute of it, I'm not treating it as a reason to throw my goals out the window.

This is where so many women get caught out.
They either:

❌ Decide they've "blown it" before they've even arrived.
❌ Eat dust on the day to "save calories."
❌ Spend the next 3 days picking at a hangover with beige food and telling themselves they'll start again on Monday.

None of that is necessary.

Fat loss doesn't happen in a day. It happens across weeks and months.

A wedding, holiday, birthday or night out is just one event.

The skill isn't avoiding those things. The skill is learning how to enjoy them without turning them into a week-long write-off.

For me, that means:

✅ Looking at my week as a whole
✅ Staying consistent leading into the event
✅ Not arriving starving
✅ Making sensible choices with drinks
✅ Having a plan for the next day

Because real success isn't about being perfect.
It's about building a lifestyle where you can celebrate, make memories, enjoy yourself and still make progress.

The biggest thing that changed my body long term?

I stopped treating fat loss like a punishment phase I had to survive. Because see the thought of dieting NON STOP until you lose 10–15kg?

Absolutely brutal.

No wonder women burn out.

Their motivation disappears.

They end up in the dreaded on off cycle!

What if you looked at it differently....

Fat loss phases.

Maintenance phases.

Bloody real life phases!

All mapped out BEFORE you start.

Where are the holidays? The birthdays?The (more) stressful stuff?The weeks you actually just want to enjoy yourself a wee bit more?

That’s where maintenance goes.

Then when life allows it again… tighten things up and chip away at the next phase.

Surely that's way more sustainable mentally AND physically.

You do not need to suffer for 12 months straight to lose body fat.

You need a plan you can actually stay with long enough.

That’s the difference.

The weekend fat loss spectrum 🌈

Surprisingly my last few weekends have been busy and less OAP like (mind you, most pensioners i know are living there best life!).

That doesn’t mean I push the " f #   it" button on my goals!!

Some weekends are:

😊Quiet, structured, not much on
🙏A couple of meals out and a few drinks
😅Full-blown “who even am I?” energy with takeaways, cocktails and a kebab appearing at 1am

That’s real life.

The mistake people make is treating EVERY weekend the same.

If you’ve not got much on this weekend… Treat it like a continuation of the week. Keep your normal meals. Keep your steps up. Train if you planned to. Don’t create a “cheat weekend” just because it’s Saturday.
If you’ve got a bigger social weekend… Take it for what it is. Enjoy it. Stop trying to “be good” all day then faceplant into 4,000 calories at night because you arrived starving and hanging out your arse.

A few tactics:

✅️Prioritise protein earlier in the day
❌️Don’t save all your calories for night
time...this backfires at somepoint
🙏Get movement in early...might help with the old hangover too!
💯Pick your “worth it” moments instead of eating everything because “weekends don’t count”
💦Hydrate like an adult, not a raisin

One weekend does NOT dictate your fat loss journey.

A wild weekend occasionally? Crack on.

A wild weekend every single weekend followed by “I’ll start Monday” on repeat for 6 months?

That will do it.

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s learning how to handle ALL versions of life without throwing the towel in every Monday.

Your environment matters more than you realise.

And no, this isn’t about expecting the people around you to suddenly become healthy robots over night!

It's about communication.

Because if you are trying to change your habits, confidence, mindset and lifestyle while pretending nothing is happening, you are making the journey 10 times harder!

Plus if your family don't notice a change they are after than you thought!

Tell those around you, tell them what it means to you.

It's not just about losing weight, it's how you're feeling about yourself and what you are trying to change.

And any family member worth their weight in gold with help you all the way!

I mean I wee bit of a wind up now and again is ok....as long as it comes from a good place!

Wednesday Win Wall… and this one hits different.

We celebrate the small wins in here every week…because that’s where change actually happens.

But sometimes you get a win that shows exactly what all those small ones were building towards.

Amy came to me last summer not feeling like herself.

Health wasn’t in a great place, low energy, low confidence.

But she didn’t go extreme.

She didn’t wait for the “perfect time.”

She just started showing up.

Week by week.

Choice by choice.

Stacking the basics.

Yes...she lost weight.

Yes, her health markers improved massively.

But more than that… she became someone who follows through.

And alongside all of that…

She set herself a goal to run the London Marathon for Marie Curie 💛

On Sunday… she went and did it.

That’s not motivation.

That’s consistency.

That’s identity change.

So if you’re sitting there thinking “I’ll start when things calm down…”

This is your reminder....they won’t and never will.

Food isn’t just fuel.

It’s comfort.

It’s memories.

It’s a wee “this is for me” at the end of a long day.

So emotional eating?

Not the problem.

The problem is when your evenings feel like…

“I’m not even hungry… but I need something”

And suddenly it’s a bit of this… a bit of that…and before you know it your elbow deep in a share bag of Sensations

That’s not greed.

That’s not lack of willpower.

That’s usually:

✅️under-eating all day
✅️ no proper meals
✅️ mentally drained
✅️ food = your only switch off

You don’t need to cut it out.

You just need to feel back in control again.

I should feel like.....“I’m choosing this”, instead of
“I can’t stop this”.

Last summer didn’t go wrong for me on holiday.

It was decided months before.

The small things. The ‘just one more’.

The evenings that didn’t feel like a big deal at the time……added up.

By the time I got there, I didn’t feel how I wanted to.

I hid or avoid photos.

Wore clothes to hide my body.

Use my own son as a barrier!
