In this group we study the meridians which

transports chi / energy around the body and hopefully discourage your attacker
with a way that employs minimal strength but maximum efficiency . This is the best way i learned how to defend myself boost your confidence and improve your fitness. I have always thought it better to create something that others can criticise , than to create nothing and criticise others. As you progress, there will be opportunities for you to train with masters from a round the world

Mr Peter Andrew Cooney 9th Dan Coo-Gar Keiraku ryu

1959 - Judo at Courtney Street, Hull. No grade obtained.
1963 - Tanglanghaun, Instructor Mr. Yang Chang-Ping. Bricknell Avenue, no grade obtained.



1966 - M.P Chin, Hull University = Granted 1st Dan Karate Shotokan in 1969.

1972 - Along with M.T Burwell I trained in the art of Feng-Sau Kung Fu with Mr. Chee-Soo for 5 years of the Wu-Shu of China = Granted 3rd Pan 1976.

1976 - Ju-Jitsu Instructor Mr .N Sangwin. of the United Fighting Art's Association = Granted 1st Dan Ju-Jitsu 06/09/1981. Granted 1st Black sash Kung-Fu 14/02/1982

1982 - Opened own school "The Coo-Gar at the Cavendish Road School, Hull within the United Martial Arts Association - Granted 2nd Dan Coo-Gar 28/10/1983. The Nippon Budo-Kai, Japan, M.N Sangwin. Mr .B Clark. Mr G .S Bertozinni Mr .M Inove = Granted 3rd Dan 28/10/1985 Coo-Gar. Granted 4th Dan, Coo-Gar 27/10/1992

1987 - Granted the rank of level two coach by the Martial Arts Commission and the Sports Council 1987. The British Karate Association granted 4th Dan Coo-Gar 14/02/1992

1990 - The World Martial Arts Council. As I have obtained 6 Dan / Degree grades within the arts of Karate, Ju-Jitsu and Kung-Fu, the council granted 5th Dan for my thirty-four years immersed in the arts in 1992. Granted 6th Dan 1998. Granted 7th Dan 2006. Granted 8th Dan 2014 + Registered as a Fellow of the International Guild of Masters 2014
2015 Was the year of the World Martial Arts Council Games in Bangkok days and days of people around our world competing with one another 2016 was the year i met Dr Thanaporchi again or Dr Than way up in Laos i had trained with him in 2009 in Vientiane that was the year i moved to the Keiraku Ryu way of thinking !
2022; Granted 9th Dan by the World Martial Arts Council 01\06\2022
