A massive thank you to everyone who came and fished our Kath Lumley charity memorial match yesterday in aid of Prostrate Cancer, thank you to all who donated raffle prizes and to all who helped make this a success, to friends and family who are pressed ganged every year into helping out we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We raised £771 on the day, and after counting up the money in the two collection boxes £580.09 we have a grand total so far of £1351.09 it keeps getting better each year. The collection boxes will stay available until Dec 31st. Not bad for a small club of 20 members

Kath Lumley Memorial Charity Match will take place on Sunday 9th Aug in aid of Prostrate Cancer.
We will be using the Horseshoe Lake and the Roadside Carp Lake this year with prizes for the winners/runners up from both lakes. Anyone requiring a sandwich please be there before 8.30am. We will provide your landing and keep nets, you will need to bring a landing net handle.

Cost will be £15
Draw 9am, fish 10.30 - 3.30pm
Refreshments / Presentation from 4pm onwards all welcome.
Anyone wishing to donate a raffle prize it would be gratefully received.
We will be unashamedly asking for your money that day so please buy some raffle tickets and then some.
Lastly please bring a chair as we seem to be short of them for the presentation.

Anyone not able to attend who has previously said they are coming could you please let us know asap.

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE

The Kath Lumley Memorial Charity Match & Club Presentation will take place on Sunday 9th August 2026
This is open to all club members, past & present and Kath’s family anyone wishing to fish the match can you please let me asap. The cost will be £15 and all proceeds will be going to this years chosen charity Prostate Cancer Research. Once we know how many are fishing remaining pegs will be available for anyone else who wishes to join us.

We have decided that this year’s charity will Prostrate Cancer UK.
Please give generously when you can, collection tins are in the shop and cafe.
We have information regarding prostate cancer available in the shop should you need it.

We have counted up the money from the collection tins and you have raised a grand total of £1287 over the past year 2025 for the Alzheimer’s Society. We have rounded this up to £1300 and will be sending this to them in due course. Thank you all who donated to everyone who gave their time and effort to raise this wonderful amount.
On a sadder note we would like to offer our condolences to Neil Lumley and family on the sudden loss of Katrina Lumley just before Christmas. For those of you who didn’t know her she was the lady who made and provided us the gorgeous cupcakes at every year’s charity fishing match, much loved and sadly missed.

What a fantastic day was had by all yesterday on our annual Kath Lumley Memorial Charity Match and Club Presentation.
The sun was shinning and we had a great turnout from the lads.
The Kath Lumley Memorial Shield was won by Jason Lodge with 60lb 3oz.
The Oakland Waters league for 24/25 was won by Steve Foster, 2nd Simon Hudson & 3rd Mick Parrott. Mick also won the most improved angler as voted by club members.
We raised a total of £617 from the match and raffle. Many thanks to everyone who donated raffle prizes, to Katina Lumley for the amazing cup cakes once again to Angela for organising the members prizes to Neil Lumley for the kind donations yet again and to everyone who gives their time and effort to make this a great day that Kath would have loved and enjoyed, thank you xx
