We're delighted to welcome Mark Scoular as Guildford Rugby Club's new Chair of Senior Men's Rugby.

Mark brings a wealth of experience, fresh energy and a genuine passion for building environments where players, coaches and volunteers can thrive.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be working together to lay strong foundations for the season ahead, strengthening our senior men's programme, supporting player development and continuing to build a culture that reflects the ambitions of our club.

There is plenty of work to do, but we're excited about what comes next.

😎Can You Help Our Players Stay Local This Summer?✨

We have seven talented young players returning from university this summer and keeping them in the area means keeping them in the squad. All seven have strong academic records, real work experience and the drive you'd expect from competitive rugby players. We're looking for anyone in our network who can open doors: whether that's a summer internship, a part-time role while they finish their studies, or a full-time graduate position from June or July onwards.

They're seeking roles across finance, real estate, biotech, sales, data and sport, in London or Surrey. If you work somewhere that could be a good fit, or simply know someone who might, a quick introduction could make a real difference to whether these players come back to Guildford RFC this season.

Guildford RFC is recruiting a Head Coach to lead the Senior Men’s programme into the 2026/27 season and beyond.
➡️ This is more than a rugby coaching role. We are looking for somebody capable of helping shape standards, culture, leadership and long-term player development across the Senior Men’s section. We are one club - from Youth and Colts through to Senior Rugby - and the successful candidate must be committed to supporting Guildford Rugby Club’s wider “One Club” philosophy through positive engagement with players, volunteers, supporters and the broader rugby community .
➡️ A key responsibility of the role will be supporting the transition, development and ultimately retention of players progressing from Colts into Senior Rugby. The successful candidate will help establish high standards of behaviour, preparation, accountability and leadership through the Senior Men’s environment, whilst also contributing to player recruitment, retention and the long-term sustainability of the programme.
➡️ The role requires strong collaboration with the Director of Sport, the Chair of Senior Men’s Rugby, the wider coaching team and the player leadership group. Beyond coaching players, we are looking for somebody who can help develop coaches, mentor younger coaches and contribute to building future rugby leaders within the club. Just as importantly, the successful candidate should understand club culture, engage positively with supporters, support visibility around the programme and help build energy and connection across the wider club environment.
➡️The successful candidate will be keen to embrace and contribute to Guildford Rugby Club’s “One Club” philosophy, supporting strong relationships across Youth, Colts, Senior Rugby, volunteers and supporters.
