👋 Hey all!! Due to these unprecedented circumstances we are all regrettably facing at present 🦠 I really hope this message finds you all fit, well & healthy? X

We all have to adapt personally, commercially & economically to continue to live as best as possible so as to thrive alongside this & adapt to a new norm. I just wanted to reach out & firstly say HELLO again 👋 following a few months off social media which was necessary for me just to clear my head space, build up my immune system again & meet my work demands. I am pleased to now report that all is well at present on my front & 🤞🏻 long may this continue. Xx

Secondly, I just wanted to communicate with my little fitness community to say that despite all this doom and gloom everywhere, Im currently working on my business model so that your fitness & all your hard work won’t be hampered due to 🦠

I truly believe that we can all still work together to help fight this... never underestimate the hunter gatherer! 🙌🏻 It is paramount that we keep both PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH to the best it can be especially when we will depend on it the most during these turbulent times we now face! I trust from what I have witnessed in 1-2-1s / classes that we have all trained so hard over the past few months to develop the STRENGTH we need to be able pull through this!! So, I am pleased to say that with all the time we will soon be having on our hands at home I will be rolling out a weekly 🎉 FITNESS FRIDAY 🎉package to all my clients’ but also to any new clients’ from my classes etc who still wish to pursue a fitness routine & a healthy lifestyle whilst at home!! It can be daunting to leave your gyms & classes behind as now being advised too in most places & you maybe thinking ‘how do I do this by myself?’ 😫 BUT alas, this is where I will come in!! PLEASE PM ME 👉🏻 if you would like further details on this weekly FITNESS FRIDAY package or anything fitness related & I promise I will answer all you Q&A’s!!

💕 I would like to take this opportunity to also send you all so much love. I can’t wrap you all in cotton wool unfortunately & keep you in my gym for a few months like I would want too; but I want you all to stay safe & I look forward to still communicating with you all on a weekly basis! Let’s LOCK & LOAD, keep HEALTHY 💪🏻 & aim to put this 🦠 thing to bed! 💕

HALLOWEEN 👻 - any excuse for a quick 15-20min workout. LOWER & UPPER body, with some CORE! Scarily simple... 5 exercises & all you need is your 🎃

Here’s how you TREAT yourself....
🧭 40 SECS ON each exercise BACK to BACK (take rests between if needed)
⌛️ REST 1-2 MINS, rehydrate, stretch, focus
🔄 2 - 6 ROUNDS - GOAL 🙌🏻
Be careful not to TRICK yourself, here’s a few helpful Halloween hints!
🎃 SQUATS- hinge from hips, bend legs as low as flexibility/mobility allows, butt below knee height, chest up, heels grounded.
🎃 PRESS-UPS- option on knees or toes, bend from elbows, lead with chest, no floor hu***ng
🎃 WOODCHOPS- core MUST be braced at all times, ease into it no rush, focus on getting the waist to work in that rotation, no shoulder shrugging
🎃 LUNGES- nice long stride fwd, option with or without the rotation, keep hips square, activate glutes & core then push off through front heel to reset. Don’t let front knee roll in, get front thigh parallel to floor as you lower through back leg close, lock it then rotate
🎃 SHOOT OUTS- option with our without your pumpkin if you have lower back probs or a weaker core. You can do single leg extensions & ground other leg for extra support. Don’t OVERARCH lower back, focus on the abs bringing you up into the crunch not your head/neck. Keep slow & controlled.
⚠️ always do a warm up prior to any activity, ⚠️ consult your medical professional prior to any activity if you have any health issues which may be affected by physical exertion

Writing this (albeit a little long) hoping it finds you happy & healthy xx I’m no doctor & no therapist so I can only speak to you from my own experiences...

🔸 As a VERY shy child, if a person said hello or started a conversation with me.... WOW, I felt the blood rush to my cheeks, heart rate go up & I’d go bright red! Who knows why? Hated the attention, hated being called out to answer Qs in class... In those situations I just wanted to be left alone & sometimes invisible. My hair white, my cheeks bright red, I felt I looked like a stick of rock! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I remember hating 1 of my primary school teachers 👩‍🏫 who called me out... “Stop going red & just answer the Q please!” everyone laughed 🙄

🔸 YEARS ON (thanks mainly to my loving folks throwing me into lots of different hobbies, sports to help) this has gone 97% of time & it’s only when I’m REALLY embarrassed now it happens (calling it the karma sutra instead of recover position on first aid course- prime example)

🔸 With AGE & Uni came ANXIETY & PANIC ATTACKS- as more responsibilities, challenging times/decisions to be made with this more stress/worry. I’m fortunate as when I do experience anxiety it isn’t a daily occurrence as I know it is for some. It hasn’t stopped me from carrying out everyday duties, just seems to visit at night when the mind comes alive & can panic

🔸HOW DO I EASE IT? I always have a glass of water to hand, I normally jump outta bed open window/door for fresh air, focus on breathing whilst closing eyes & trying to calm myself down. Then if possible I GO AND CHAT or 📞 SOMEONE- which is 🔑 Get a 2nd opinion, share a problem & NEVER be embarrassed or be ashamed.

🔸 COPING STRATEGIES: Find a routine that works for you during the moment when experiencing anxiety etc. For me, the above when in thick of it but once calm, it’s all about TAKING SOME TIME OUT resting, listening to your body. SHARE PROBS/REACH OUT- tell a friend, family member or ring up an association etc who’ll be there to listen. CLEAN DIET/SLEEP HYGIENE/HEALTHY LIVING personally this come into it, I’ve probably been neglecting it somewhere down the line & your GUT IS THE 2ND 🧠 so they say, feed it wisely with 🌈 colours & get rest when you can- I swear by siesta’s!
EXERCISE- anxiety is how I found it, the prescribed tonic 🙌🏻 Soooooo many benefits to finding some activity that you enjoy & DO IT!

* Sober October 🍺 - sign up TODAY & raise money for some great charities. Grab one of the many new alcohol-free beers/wines that have come out instead!

* NHS Stoptober 🚬 - join up, to split up TODAY- see NHS website for more details. “Believe it or not, I used to smoke, started young (11yrs old) & fortunately kicked it young (18yrs old). TOUGH especially when everyone around you still lit up BUT DOABLE- now, I can’t believe how much they cost 👀 it was around a fiver/six quid a pack back in the day.”

* ENJOY EATING IN SEASON. Autumn’s still great for fruit and veg. It’s the start of the season for wild mushrooms, cranberries and shallots, while squash and pumpkin are widely available. Oysters start their season and it’s turkey time too. (goodtoknow.co.uk) GOOD HEARTY WARM DINNERS- 😋
