🎯 THE UPS & DOWNS OF A TOURNAMENT RUN 🎯

Not every tournament journey is a straight line, and Thursday's event at Arrows Darts Venue & Supplies was a perfect reminder of that. It was a strong start, taking a 2-0 win in the first game with a solid 77.08 average, before following it up with another 2-0 victory.

Then came a difficult Round 3 against Liam Hughes. Whilst we usually bring out the best 🎯 in each other and have competitive exciting games, I couldn't quite find my rhythm and suffered a 2-0 defeat, averaging only 54.27. At that point, I felt my head start to drop.

But this game is all about learning, adapting, & going again

Although the scoreline didn't go my way against Callum Smith who threw a cracking 81.24, my scoring came closer to usual. Heading into the last match of the group I took a strong 2-0 win with 14 dart & 21 dart legs giving a 85.89 average 🔥

Unfortunately, those two big losses cost me a slot in the knockouts but tournament darts is about handling momentum swings, overcoming disappointment and finding a way to bounce back. It wasn't how I wanted the night to go but I built resilience & determination and the ability to finish strongly when it mattered

It was a fun start to tonight's tournament when I realised I'd left home without my current set of darts 🫣 Luckily as those who play with me regularly would agree, my darts case always has some spares 🙃 I assembled a set and got to work. It took a little while to adapt and get the doubles flowing but it came together nicely for the knockouts.

Brilliant welcome at The 9 Darter and always great to catch up with people 👍🏻 Thanks and well done to Liam Hughes runner up for a great night. Always good when we play each other mate 🎯

What shall I throw tomorrow in the JDC Volt at Arrows Darts Venue & Supplies? Stick with the Redux from tonight or go back to the Gabriel Clemens I've been throwing? ⁉️

After a fantastic day of darts…there was some incredible games, and some great sportsmanship shown, all 32 boys and 10 girls who entered the Nations Cup Qualifiers did themselves, their families, their parents and Academies proud. This is a really big step for all 32 of these brilliant youngsters.

Wow, what a day! I was lucky enough to qualify in the top 32 in Wales to play off today for 8 spaces in the Wales team for the Nations Cup.

After a nail biting day for my supporters, I topped my group to qualify 💪🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Looking forward to representing JDC Wales in the Nations Cup in Scotland this August 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🎯
