Another hotly contested final at Barnwood yesterday evening, with the Ladies Pairs Final taking centre stage! 🎯

There were some fantastic bowls on display, with plenty of drama along the way to keep the watching crowd entertained.

But perhaps the biggest winner on the night was the game itself — played with great spirit, plenty of determination and competitiveness, but above all with wonderful humour, friendship and camaraderie throughout. 💚

Huge congratulations to our champions 🏆 and commiserations to our runners-up, but well done to all four ladies for a cracking final and for showing exactly what club bowls is all about.

FIRST BARNWOOD BC FINALS DAY 2026

Just a few photos from the first Barnwood BC Finals Day 2026, held yesterday.

The weather could certainly have been a little kinder 🌧️, but in true Barnwood spirit, our finalists weren’t going to let a little bit of rain get in the way of the serious business of claiming the silverware! 😄

There were some excellent and fiercely contested games throughout the day, keeping those hardy enough to brave the conditions well entertained.

Huge congratulations to all our 2026 champions from yesterday 🏆👏 and commiserations to those who fell just short at the final hurdle. Getting to a club final is an achievement in itself… although we know that probably won’t make losing one feel any better! 😂

Competitive on the green, friends off it - exactly as it should be.

Well done to everyone who competed, supported and helped make the day another great Barnwood occasion.

Now, about that weather for next weekend… ☀️🤞

🏴 BRITISH BOWLS U25 INTERNATIONAL SERIES 🏴

Huge congratulations from everyone at Barnwood Bowling Club to Finley Williamson, Louie Hodges (Cheltenham BC) and Hannah Smith (Barnwood BC), who proudly represented England in the British Bowls U25 International Series at Royal Leamington Spa this weekend.

🥇 Finley and Louie helped the England Mens team secure a fantastic GOLD medal, while Hannah helped the England Womens team to a brilliant SILVER medal. 🥈

Three Gloucestershire players representing their country, two fantastic team medals and memories that will last a lifetime — what an incredible achievement!

We couldn’t be prouder to see Finley, Louie and Hannah wearing the England shirt and performing on the international stage.

Absolutely outstanding - huge congratulations to all three of you from the entire Barnwood family! 👏👏👏

Barnwood Bowling Club were delighted to host the final stages of the Men’s County Cup competition yesterday.

There was some excellent bowling on display throughout the day, culminating in a closely contested final between Cheltenham and Olveston.

Huge congratulations to Olveston Bowling Club on their victory and being crowned 2026 Men’s County Cup Champions! 🏆👏

Well done to all the teams who competed and thank you to everyone who came along to support and help make it such an enjoyable day at Barnwood.

🏆 BOWLS ENGLAND NATIONAL MIXED FOURS CHAMPIONS 🏆

HUGE congratulations to Hannah Smith and Iona Bird (Barnwood BC), alongside James Fitzgerald and Tom Holmes (Cheltenham BC), on winning the Bowls England National Mixed Fours title at Leamington Spa today! 🏆👏

The magnificent four performed superbly throughout the Championships, producing some fantastic bowls along the way before culminating in a hard fought 18–12 victory over Kylie Jenkins, Kelly Jenkins, Ian Jenkins and Barry Jenkins of Surrey in the final.

An incredible achievement and another National title for Hannah, following her Women’s U25 Singles success just last week! 🏆🏆

Huge congratulations to all four of Gloucestershire’s newly crowned National Champions - thoroughly deserved! 👏👏

What a fantastic achievement for Hannah Smith, who today became the Womens U25 National Singles Champion at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa! 🌹👏

Hannah has produced some outstanding bowls throughout the competition, culminating in a brilliant performance to secure the National title.

Everyone at Barnwood Bowling Club is absolutely delighted for you, Hannah. Seeing one of our own crowned a National Champion is a very special moment for the whole club.

🏆DIVISION 1 LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!🏆

The Barnwood ladies have only gone and turned our double into a TREBLE!! 🏆🏆🏆

A hard-fought win against strong opposition from Sir Thomas Rich’s BC this evening secured the title and crowned our ladies Division 1 League Champions! 🎉

Huge congratulations to the entire squad. Everyone has played their part throughout the season, and this title is a fantastic reward for all the hard work, commitment and team spirit shown along the way. 👏👏

And, as always, a massive thank you to the for getting behind the team and giving them such fantastic support.

🏆 WE’VE ONLY GONE AND DONE THE DOUBLE!! 🏆

What a fantastic way to round off a brilliant Glevum League season for Barnwood! 💚

Having secured the Glevum League title last week, tonight the team faced strong opposition from Gloucester City BC in the Glevum Cup Final.

And we’re delighted to say… the Cup is coming to Barnwood too! 🏆🏆

A great game against worthy opponents, but the Barnwood team did enough to secure the win and complete a memorable League & Cup double.

This achievement is very much a whole-squad effort. Throughout the season, so many players have pulled on the Barnwood shirt, stepped up when needed and contributed to the team’s success. It’s a great reflection of the strength, ability and team spirit we’re fortunate to have throughout the club.

Huge congratulations to every single player who has represented Barnwood in the Glevum League this season — some very well-earned silverware to show for all your efforts! 👏👏

And thank you to Gloucester City BC for a competitive and enjoyable final.

We might just allow ourselves a little celebration tonight… 🥂🏆🏆

A fantastic achievement just to earn your place on the national stage — now go out there, enjoy the occasion and do Gloucestershire proud! 💪
