I'm sure you will all have heard about the controversy around the Sydney Sweeney Sports Gamling advert as it's all over social media.

𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 -

Personally, I think women in sport should be represented by just that...women in sport and not actresses. It's not a true reflection of the diversity there is in women's sport or even on our rugby pitch. Sport is for everyone regardless of appearance, size, gender, age etc. It gives us a space to come together, make friends, learn new skills and is proven to help with mental health.

I was invited on to BBC Radio 5 Live this morning as Gloucester Hurricanes Girls Rugby Lead and asked to give my opinion and the reasoning behind it.

What an absolutely fantastic day for the new Gloucester Old Boys Women’s Team! 🏉❤️🧡💙💛

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to watch, cheer and support our ladies today. The support from the touchline was incredible and made a special occasion even better.

And of course, a massive thank you to Stroud for coming over and giving our ladies a fantastic game. It was played in great spirit and we really appreciate you being part of such a memorable day for the club. 🤝🏉

A brilliant day for the players, the supporters and Gloucester Old Boys as a club — and definitely one to remember! 🙌

The women’s team are ready, and our captain and vice-captain have been selected for our first-ever outing together! 💪🏉

Tomorrow afternoon, we take on Stroud in a touch rugby game.

Good luck to every woman stepping onto the pitch. You have all shown incredible progress in just a few short months of coming together as a team.
