We’ve got a pretty special Bright Spot this week for the wonderful Anna. ❤️

If you know Anna, you’ll know she just gets stuck in.

She works incredibly hard, she’s kind and caring, never makes a fuss, but when it’s time to dig deep, she knows how to push herself.

And over the last year, it’s been brilliant watching what that consistency has added up to.
Anna jumped on the InBody this week and, for the first time she can remember, her body fat came back within the ‘normal’ range.

Since her last scan, she’s dropped almost 8% body fat while maintaining nearly all of her muscle mass. Which is an incredible result.

But when we asked Anna about it, what she told us made us smile even more.
She’d just been out and run 17km that morning (!!) and said:

“I am absolutely amazed at what my body can do these days when I push out of my comfort zone and try new things.”

And that really sums up Anna’s last year.

Pull-ups with just one band. Rope climbs. Double unders. Push-ups. Leg raises. Running 17km.

And apparently toes-to-bar might be next… 👀

It’s also been lovely watching Anna change and adapt through motherhood.
We absolutely love having little Finn in class with us and getting our regular baby fix! 😂❤️

So much of Anna’s motivation now is about being able to throw herself into life with him.
She told us she now wakes up excited to get outside. To walk, run, ride bikes, play in the park and chase her little maniac around.

She even celebrated recently that she can now squeeze herself through the tiny playground tunnels after him. 😂

And this probably says more than any InBody scan ever could:

“I wanted to look and feel better in myself, but most of all I want to set the best example for Finn and be able to show up for him in the best possible way, every day.”
That’s the bit we love.

Yes, Anna looks fantastic.

But she’s also stronger, fitter, more confident in what her body can do and has more energy for the life she wants to live.

That’s a pretty great transformation.

We’re so proud of you, Anna. ❤️

Keep getting stuck in. We absolutely love having you and Finn as part of Glevum!

Mary started training with us back in 2022 and is now a much-loved member of our 10:30am Live Well class.

You’ll find her here every Tuesday and Thursday, working hard, catching up with her friends and, very importantly, heading out for that post-workout coffee afterwards.

Anyone who knows Mary will know just how kind-hearted and caring she is. She is always there to support and encourage others, and she is genuinely one of Glevum’s biggest advocates. We absolutely adore having her as part of this community.

But don’t let that lovely nature fool you… Mary knows how to work hard! 💪 She pushes herself in sessions, embraces a challenge and continues to prove to herself just how capable she is.

Recently, that meant taking on Tough Mudder alongside some of her Glevum friends - something she says she would never have even attempted before joining us.

In Mary’s words:

“The gym has made me stronger and fitter, that’s for sure, helping me maintain muscle and flexibility as I get older. I’ve met so many lovely, like-minded people and made real friends — ones who support and encourage you.

My social life has blossomed since joining the gym and it’s the only gym that I’ve managed to attend consistently, for over 4 years now.”

And really, that sums up so much of what we love about Mary’s story.

It isn’t just about getting fitter. It’s about staying strong, saying yes to things you might once have thought weren’t for you, finding others to share those experiences with.

A few moments from last week at Glevum. 👊

A dad and son training together.

Cindy getting stuck in to the weights for the very first time.

Kirsty getting straight back into routine after a holiday.

And Chris putting in the work and taking a new PB on Chief.

Different people. Different goals. Different stages of the journey.

But the same thing ties them all together:

Showing up and making training part of their lives.

That’s what progress looks like. Not always bigger numbers or harder workouts, but consistently making time for something that makes you feel better.

New week. Let’s get after it. 💪

Sue has had a strict pull-up as a goal for a while.

It didn’t happen overnight, and there wasn’t one magic workout that got her there.

She set the target, worked with our coaches to figure out what she needed to do to get there, and then put a plan in place.

For the last few months, Sue has been coming in just 15 minutes early before her classes to get some extra pull-up work in.

A little bit of practice.
A little bit of accountability.
A little bit of consistency.

And gradually, the goal that once felt a long way away started to feel a lot more achievable.

Until this week, when she finally did it. 🙌

That’s what we love about setting a goal.

You don’t always need to know exactly how you’re going to get there. You just need to set the target, have the right people around you to help you find the route, and then keep taking the steps.

Because there’s something pretty special about achieving something that, not that long ago, seemed a long way out of reach.

Brilliant work, Sue. You earned this one. ❤️

Progress rarely feels like progress while you’re in it.

Most of the time, it’s just another fairly ordinary week.

You turn up.
You practise the movement again.
You add a little weight.
You build a bit more confidence.
You adapt something when you need to.
You come back after a week away.

Sometimes you have a great session. Sometimes you don’t.

And that’s the point.

You don’t need every session to be amazing. You just need to keep putting the sessions together.

Because eventually, almost without noticing, the weight that once felt heavy doesn’t feel quite so heavy anymore. You’re doing more reps. Moving better. Feeling stronger. And the things that once felt difficult have become normal.

Consistency can look pretty unexciting day to day. Give it enough time, though, and the results can be anything but.

So as we plough through September, don’t worry about making every session count.

Just keep showing up. ❤️

James has been part of Glevum since 2013.

A business owner. Dad of five. A busy family life, a social life that matters, and plenty of demands on his time.

But for over a decade, training has remained part of his life.

Not because he has endless time to train.
Not because fitness always comes first.

Because he knows how much better he feels when he makes the time for it.

As James says:

“I enjoy every single moment I am able to attend the gym… It has made me feel so much better about myself.”

And we think that says a lot about what training should give you.

Something that adds to your life, not something that takes it over.

Thanks for being part of Glevum for all these years, James. ❤️

Do you really need to train 5x a week?

No. You need to do the right things, consistently.

For most busy adults, 3–4 good sessions each week, done consistently over months and years, will beat 5 sessions for a few weeks before life gets in the way.

You don’t need more. You need something you can stick to.

Consistency beats intensity. Every time. 💪

Same workout. Better results.

Yesterday we retested an endurance and stamina workout we first tackled back in April.

And it was brilliant to see just how much had changed.

Some members improved their rowing and running efforts by up to 1:48. ⏱️

Not because of one big session.

Because of all the sessions in between.

The work adds up.

Do the right things. Do them consistently. And give it time. 💪

202KG. LIFETIME Personal Best. 💪

Matt first walked through our doors back in 2012.

He moved away in 2015 for work, but came back to Glevum in December 2025, ready to make training a priority again.

Fast forward to yesterday...

202kg deadlift. A lifetime PB.

Four mornings a week.
6AM starts.
Before work. Before family life takes over.

Nothing extreme. Nothing complicated.

Just showing up, putting the work in and doing the right things consistently.

And sometimes, that consistency pays off with a moment like this.

Well done Matt. What a lift. 👏

DOROTA’S STORY ❤️

Three years ago, Dorota joined Glevum.

Now, approaching 58, she says she genuinely feels fitter, stronger and looks better than ever.

And I think that says a lot about what consistency can do.

She’s kept showing up, week after week, and made exercise a normal part of her life. Not chasing quick fixes, but building strength, fitness and confidence that she can take with her into the years ahead.

She loves that every session has a purpose. That the coaches guide her, challenge her and help her do things she didn’t think she could.

But I think one of the best things about Dorota’s story is that she’s found a place where she actually enjoys training.

Good people. Good energy. A reason to keep turning up.

As she puts it:

“Join, stay consistent, enjoy, trust the process.”

Three years in, and she’s still doing exactly that. And feeling better for it. 💪❤️
