It all began at a school event, where a young, ambitious athlete with boundless potential took a chance on me. I had the privilege of witnessing his incredible abilities, and our journey together started in 2022. As we close this chapter, I am sure there is a remarkable ending yet to unfold.
Saying goodbye to not only one of our finest sprinters but also one of the most extraordinary young men I have had the honour of coaching is incredibly difficult. Dylan leaving to start a new adventure in the US feels like parting ways with someone who has made me a better coach, father, and individual. He challenged me as much as I challenged him, and I’m filled with pride for the person he has become and will continue to be.
SPT is more than just a brand; it is a place of opportunity, family, and belonging. Though we bid farewell, it is not a permanent goodbye. While I may not be coaching him every day, I will forever remain his first coach and so proud to be. I hope the belief I had in him allows him to have the belief in himself.
SPT will always be your home, and we will welcome you back with open arms.
