💙 Giving back beyond the track…

As well as offering 10 bursary places this year, giving athletes the opportunity to attend Young Athletes Camp completely free of charge, we also believe it’s important to give back to our local community.

This year, we are proud to support Young Gloucestershire a local charity supporting young people who are facing challenges in their lives.

Young Gloucestershire provides vital support across areas including mental health and wellbeing, education and skills, mentoring and family support, helping young people build confidence, motivation and the skills to improve their lives.

We’re passionate about supporting young people both on and off the track and giving back to those in our local community is a huge part of what Young Athletes Camp is all about. 🫶

Final day of Young Athletes Camp 2026! ⭐️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We finished the week with plenty of prizes, competition and celebrations! 🏆

For Thursday’s sessions, our Athletes of the Day were Eva Pop & Sam Jones. A huge well done to both! 👏

We also had a very special award for Harry Robinson, who was presented with an U20 World Championships bag from Oregon, kindly donated by Coach Sy from the Bermuda Olympic Committee. 🇧🇲🎽 A brilliant achievement and a very special keepsake!

Our Athlete of the Week awards were also presented:

🏆 Ann Coates Award — Florence Williams
🏆 Steve Blosse Award — Lukas Mundt

A huge congratulations to both athletes! 👏⭐️

The week finished with our team relay, with all the teams going head-to-head in one final competition! ⚡️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Our overall team winners were Portugal with the runners up Germany🇵🇹🇩🇪

Congratulations to our winning team and to everyone who took part — you’ve all been fantastic throughout the week! 🏆👏

And just like that… it was time to say goodbye! ❤️

Day 4 at Young Athletes Camp! ⭐️

Another packed day of training, learning and plenty of fun! 💪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

After breakfast, we kicked things off with a talk on long-term athlete & personal development**, followed by a practical sports psychology session🧠

We then focused on RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport) — understanding what it is, how it can affect athletes and the impact it can have on training and performance.

Next up was a threshold & sprint session chat so the athletes could understand the pace and aim of the session💪

We also had some great information on the England Athletics Youth Talent Programme for athletes aged 12–14, before finishing the day with some team games! 🤝🔥

Another action-packed day at Young Athletes Camp! 💪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🌅 Morning: Walk, mobility & jog before heading to breakfast
⭐️ We were thrilled to welcome Olympic athlete Adam Gemili to camp! 🇬🇧
🗣️Adam did an excellent introduction and welcoming
🏃Track Session 1: Plyometric drills, developing power, strength & coordination
🥗 Lunch:Refuel and recharge
🎤 60-Minute Q&A with Adam: Plenty of great questions on recovery, dealing with setbacks, staying motivated and the determination needed to succeed in sport 💬🔥
💪 Track Session 2:General strength work to finish the training day
🍽️ Dinner:Time to refuel after a busy day!
🎵 Evening:A TikTok challenge with each team representing their country 🌍😂

🌅 Morning walk, mobility & jog before heading to breakfast
⭐️ We were then thrilled to welcome Olympic athlete Adam Gemili to the camp as he was spending a full day with us! 🇬🇧

Another action packed day of training, learning and plenty of fun! 💪

🌅 We started with a morning run/walk and mobility session
🥑 Nutrition session — learning about the importance of a balanced diet, carbohydrates for energy, protein for muscle repair and healthy fats for endurance
🚧 Hurdle drills — focusing on hip mobility and strength for our endurance runners
🏟️ Track session — athletes split into ability groups, with some fantastic efforts from everyone! 👏
💬 Coaches’ Corner — one-to-one advice and guidance with our coaches
🏆 Evening team games — 9 mini games, all competing to win points for their Olympic teams!

A brilliant day from start to finish and we’re only getting started! 🔥
