Personal opinion on Magazine Capacity For AEG (M4 base Rifs).
-> High Capacity Mags: Holding roughly 300 BBs I honestly believed these were the best idea to run on, it ment less Mag change time during games (depending on your fire rate and how trigger happy you are). I eventually built my way up to carrying 2 Mags & using 1.5 depending on the type of game being played. I eventually found that I was giving myself away due to the BBs rattling away trying to be more lighter on my feet (trust me as a big person not necessarily easy to do) & moving even slower just to avoid giving away my position in the field & the winding of the Mags to keep a Feed being supplied into the chamber is a bit of pain especially if you get carried away and forget to wind the mag up
-> Mid Capacity Mags; Holding roughly 100-150 BBs. Again being Honest, I thought this size Mag was not the best to run on, holding roughly half the size of High Caps I thought it ment carrying more mags (which it does) & more Mag changing time during a game (again which it does depending on your fire rate & how trigger happy you are). Now I have only played One game with Mid caps & carried 2 out of the 6 I own, how ever I felt dropping down to Mid Cap Mags is the way forward for myself. I could sneak around more easily meaning I could run & step quicker with out the sound of rattling BBs,I didn’t have to worry about not winding the Mag meaning I knew a bb would be in the chamber ready. AND I was surprised as to how long a mag lasted me as everytime I ejected the Mag there was still BBs in the mag untill my M4 dried fired meaning there was no BBs left in the mag.
To Cap off;
-> High Capacity WAS brilliant to start off with
(• Positive ~ Negative)
• Roughly 300 BB capacity
• less Mag change time (depending on Fire Rate & how Trigger Happy you are)
• less mags to carry
~ have to wind up the Cog at the bottoms of Mag (every so often) to maintain feed of BB into chamber
~ BBs rattle inside the Mag around giving you away
-> Mid Capacity HAS blown my mind
(• Positive ~ Negative)
• Roughly 100-150 BB Capacity
• BBs do NOT rattle around inside the Mag
• Feeds a BB itself into the chamber (No need to wind a Cog at the bottom of the Mag)
~ More Mags to carry
~ More Mag change time (depending on Fire Rate & how Trigger Happy you are
Though I still intend to carry & potentially use my High Capacity Mags I am more likely to move onto & mainly use Mid Capacity Mags, I feel the positives and negatives are evenly matched.
I am interested in hearing what you use and your opinions. I am no where near an expert so please feel free to correct any information.
