Glossop North End AFC Founded in 1886, currently playing in The North West Counties Football League, Premier Division Glossop North End AFC ARE based in Glossop, Derbyshire.

Former members of the Football League, they are currently in the Northern Premier League, West Division and are members of the Derbyshire County Football Association. They play their home matches at Surrey Street, which has a capacity of 2,374 (209 seated, 2,165 standing). The club play in blue, and are known as the Hillmen. Between 1899 and 1992 the club were known as Glossop. Glossop is often ci

ted as the smallest town in England to have had a Football League club, and the smallest town to have played in the English top flight. At the turn of the 20th century, Glossop played in Division One, bankrolled by Sir Samuel Hill-Wood, who was later to become chairman of Arsenal, with whom the club retains connections to this day.

Everyone at Glossop North End is delighted to congratulate our manager Lee Wilshaw and his partner Sarah on the safe arrival of their son, Noah George Wilshaw.

Born on Wednesday 10th June, Noah weighed 7lb 3oz, and we're pleased to report that mum, dad and baby are all doing very well indeed following their return home from hospital.

Quite rightly, Lee has taken some time away from the pitch during the opening week of pre-season to help out with his young family, with Colin Morrison and the rest of the coaching staff overseeing the majority of the schedule.

Knowing Lee, however, he is already aiming to be back in the thick of things as early as next week!

Congratulations to Lee and Sarah, and a warm Hillmen welcome to young Noah πŸ”΅πŸ’™

If anyone's around tomorrow (Saturday), we'd be grateful for a hand with a few general maintenance jobs from 10:30am onwards. There's a bit of painting, cleaning and general tidying to tackle.

Continuing the development of the club's backroom staff ahead of the 2026/27 season, Glossop North End are pleased to welcome Duncan Welsby to the Hillmen.

Duncan joins the club a hybrid role of Coach + Player & Opposition Analyst, bringing with him a strong background in player development and analysis.

Having been part of the Curzon Ashton U18 set-up dating back to the COVID era, Duncan has also spent time with the Young Development Squad at Stalybridge Celtic, helping to nurture the next generation of talent.

His blend of coaching and analytical expertise adds another dimension to Lee Wilshaw and Colin Morrison's management team, and everyone at Glossop North End looks forward to working with him.

Lee Wilshaw and Colin Morrison have further strengthened their coaching staff with the addition of Paul C***s ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Paul arrives at Surrey Street as a UEFA B qualified coach, bringing with him a broad range of experience from his time at Curzon Ashton. Most recently, he stepped up to the role of Reserves Manager following a restructure in November last year.

Alongside this, Paul has also coached with Curzon Ashton's Women's First Team and has played a key role in the development of players within the club's 9-16 age groups.

Paul's experience across senior, women's and youth football brings further depth and expertise to the Hillmen management team, and everyone at Glossop North End is pleased to welcome him to the club.
