π 3RD XI another win for the Young Lions π¦, but they couldnβt of done it without an aging π¦
Saddleworth 76 all out (19.2)
Glossop 78/ 1 (11.3)
Glossop won by 9 wickets
Losing the toss and being asked to field first, Glossop got off to a steadyish start with the ball, but they allowed Saddleworth to score 47 off 8 overs for the loss of no wickets, although the opening pairing Marsh and Cox began to pile on little pressure. It was on the change of bowlers that things started to happen, with Mark Allen striking first with a delivery that nipped between the gate off the seam, bamboozling the batsman. The start of quite a few wickets for the eldest man on the pitch!!
Wilson struck next following a superb diving catch in the field at mid wicket from Doody, then Mal took his 2nd with a fuller length delivery that had the opening batter plum lbw.
Wickets continued to fall quickly, Wilson adding another, and Mal taking a whopping 7wkts for 20 runs from 6 overs, with Nathan taking out the last batter leaving Saddleworth stranded on 76 all out.
In reply, Glossop didnβt mess about with the bat, although Edgar played some nice shots he fell for unusually low 14, leaving Stopford (39*) and Bolton (11*) to take Glossop over the line and secure the win.
This leaves out youngπ¦ 8pts clear at the top of the division with 2 games to play, itβs all in our hands.
β STAR MAN β Mark Allen 7 wkts for 20 runs from 6 overs.
Other notable performance - Jack Stopford, 39 from 32 deliveries.
