A new boxing and fitness class aimed specifically at home-educated young people is launching in Hadfield, offering a fun, supportive environment where children can stay active, build confidence and make new friends.
Go Hard Performance, has announced the launch of its new daytime class for children aged 11 to 16. The sessions will run three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1pm to 2pm.
They are designed to help young people develop physically, socially and mentally through a range of activities including boxing fundamentals, fitness and conditioning, team games, confidence-building exercises and coordination skills. The emphasis will be on participation, personal development and enjoyment rather than competition.
Owner and coach Gareth, who is an England Boxing qualified coach with a fully enhanced DBS check and experience of working with children, said his aim was to create a welcoming space where young people of all abilities can thrive.
"I’ve created a positive, welcoming environment where children can develop physically, socially and mentally while having fun and staying active" he said. “No previous boxing or fitness experience is required, and all abilities are welcome.”
The first session is free, after which young people can attend on a pay-as-you-go basis for £5 per session. An Under-16 membership option is also available for £50 per month, providing value for money access to all home education sessions each week.
GO HARD Performance already works with alternative education provider We Believe You Achieve, mentoring young people and helping them gain sports and fitness Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications.
We Believe You Achieve is based in Dinting, and supports young people aged 11 to 16 who are struggling to thrive in mainstream education or who have been permanently excluded.
Alongside coaching young people, Gareth and the members of GO HARD Performance are well known locally for supporting charitable causes and community fundraising initiatives, taking part in fundraising challenges to give back to the local community.
