With rain continuing to fall through the day and Coach Nic coming down with a bug , we've made the decision to cancel training with the Gladiators tonight. Hopefully we'll be back on it for cricket fun next Friday.

A huge thanks to everyone at Largo Lions for hosting a mini softball festival today - great to get the youngsters back together again!

A fun training session last Friday night, with a focus on bowling skills (and the importance of pushing through the action) and a game of Diamond Cricket to finish the night.

We had a fantastic evening at junior cricket training with the Gladiators. Lots of smiles as everyone got stuck into fielding practice - plenty of talking, teamwork, and great backing‑up across the group.

The softball squad then moved on to batting skills and showed some really impressive technique. Brilliant effort from everyone.

It was also lovely to welcome a couple of new youngsters along -great to have you with us.

Massive congratulations to Sam Lovett, whose senior debut couldn’t have been more impressive. Two wickets, calm under pressure, and the winning boundary to seal the match - earning him a fully deserved Player of the Match award. Sam, and the five other Gladiators involved, showed exactly what our pathway is all about.

A brilliant debut for Glens 3rd XI in the SPCU R&D League, edging Arbroath by 2 wickets in a game hosted fantastically by Arbroath - competitive, welcoming, and focused on development.

Arbroath posted 158/2, with young David Stow 50 retired the standout. For Glens, young debutant Sam Lovett taking two wickets, both bowled, was brilliant to see.

In reply, Glens started the run rate high with Govind Singh (49) and Muhammad Tayyiub (51 retired) leading the way, with a mid-innings wobble creating jitters before Lovett finished the job with a match‑winning boundary to seal 160/8 in the 28th over.

Huge thanks to Arbroath for hosting so well.

We were delighted to welcome Gary McDaid, our Regional Development Officer with Cricket Scotland, to our junior cricket training on Friday night.

Gary was delighted to learn his Northern Irish accent is considered to be Scouse, that his knees are still holding up to allow him to play a sweep shot and that snack time is key at the Gladiators!

The help and advice throughout the training provided by Gary was really appreciated by all.

GLADIATORS CRICKET TRAINING TONIGHT!

🏏 Junior cricket sessions providing softball and hardball cricket skills and activities - supporting healthy lives, building a culture of fun, enjoyment and respect. Come along and join the fun!

🌧 If it's raining then we'll try to give as much advance notice as possible when plans need to change. So keep an eye on our social media pages, or even better ask to join our WhatsApp community!

🙋‍♀️ The Gladiators are aimed at children and young people aged 7 and up, but if there's any younger ones keen to give it a go then please do get in touch and we can see what we can do.

What a brilliant start to our junior cricket season on Friday night!

Great turnout, loads of enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles all round.

The youngsters smashed their relay race warm‑up, got stuck into target throwing and batting‑tee hitting, and wrapped it all up with a lively game of Diamond Cricket.

Great effort, great energy - and plenty of promising talent already shining through.

Roll on next week! If you have any budding young cricketers interested in having a go then get in touch.

It's great to see the grass cricket square at Gilvenbank Park recovering well following the end of season renovations.

Our attention can now turn to winter indoor activities, so we'll hopefully announce training and game opportunities soon.
