OPEN MINI CROSS COUNTRY COMPETITION - 17 MAY 2026

Today saw the first of our open competitions for 2026. We would like to thank all competitors that supported the event.

Despite the weather forecast being a little less than promising the sun shone for most of the day and the ground conditions were good.

All competitors appeared to finish the course with a smile on their face.

We would also like to thank all our volunteers that helped in the lead up to the day with course preparation and those that helped on the day with course control, scoring, commentary, bibs, jump judging, course changes, without you these days could not run.

Hopefully see you all at our next open show jumping show on Sunday 14 June.

Open Mini Cross Country Competition

All competitors should have received an email with the times and a copy of the course plan. We would also ask all competitors to note the following:

Competitors may continue on the cross country course after elimination but must not attempt any fence more than three times or obstruct on-coming horses.

The course will be open to walk between 3.00pm and 6.00pm on Saturday 16 May or on the day of competition. There should be ample time to walk the courses on the day.

Compulsory equipment to be worn at all times when mounted:

Hats (Skull Caps) complying with BRC Hat Rules 2026 must be worn. Hats must be securely fastened at all times when mounted.

Full length Riding Boots, Jodhpur Boots or Gaiters with matching boots.

Padded whips are now compulsory for jumping. Please familiarise yourself with the use of whip rules.

Back Protectors

Please Note: You will not be allowed to compete should you fail to wear the above compulsory equipment.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads at all times.

Please ensure that all litter and general debris, i.e. horse & dog poo, drink cans, bandage tapes, straw, etc. are disposed of tidily or taken home. Waste bins on site.

Due to space constraints and Health & Safety matters, competitors MUST PARK WHERE DIRECTED by steward.

It is a condition of entry that all competitors agree to abide by the above rules

Please note that there will be NO snack van available on the day but we will be running a small tuck shop. There is also no running water so please ensure you bring water for your horse/pony.

Look forward to seeing all competitors on Sunday.
