A close game yesterday evening for Dave and Debbie in the National Family Pairs as they were at home to a pair from Watchet.

It was a warm evening and Dave and Debbie got off to a good start picking up four shots on the first end and racing into a 8-5 lead after 6 ends. The pair from Watchet came back and took the lead as Dave and Debbie found themselves behind 12-9 after 11 ends. Dave and Debbie then pulled away after picking three shots, two ends in a row and were ahead 16-12 after 14 ends. The game was set to go down to the wire but Dave and Debbie picked up four shots on the 16th end but then dropped three shots on the 17th end meaning they were going into the last end 20-17 ahead. Dave and Debbie did enough on the last end picking up five shots to win 25-17.

They have now progressed to the Somerset area final and will now play a pair from Ilminster on a neutral green.

The ladies played yesterday afternoon in the Wild League where they made the trip to Frome to play Frome Selwood.

It was a warm afternoon and the game started off close as Wyrral Park were just ahead 15-13 after 5 ends. At the halfway stage Wyrral Park increased their lead and were ahead 30-16 after 10 ends. Wyrral Park kept their foot on the gas and the lead got bigger as Wyrral Park were ahead 48-26 after 15 ends. Wyrral park never looked back in the final few ends of the game with Wyrral Park winning on all three rinks, winning 53-37 overall.

The men played their fifth game in the Mid Somerset League campaign yesterday evening where they were at home to Wells.

It was an overcast evening as Wyrral Park got off to a good start as they were 20-12 ahead after 5 ends. At the halfway stage Wells reduced the deficit but Wyrral Park were ahead 29-26 after 10 ends. Wells made a comeback after the halfway stage as Wyrral Park were behind 38-40 after 15 ends. The last few ends would be close as the game was heading into the last few ends of the game. Wyrral Park couldn't quite make the difference up as they won on two rinks and lost on one rink, losing 43-48 overall.

Wyrral Park are second in the table, 9 points behind Frome Park who are top. Wyrral Park have another home game next week when they host Frome Park.

The ladies played yesterday afternoon in the Wild League where they were at home to Norwest

It was a dry afternoon but Wyrral Park got off to a good start and were ahead 18-8 after 5 ends. Norwest made a comeback and at the halfway stage Wyrral Park behind 25-28 after 10 ends. Wyrral Park then came back and found themselves ahead 42-36 ahead after 15 ends. Norwest came back in the final few ends of the game with Wyrral Park winning on one rink and losing on two rinks, losing 44-49 overall.

The men played their third game yesterday in the County League where they were at home to Westland Sports.

It was a hot afternoon and Wyrral Park made a good start as they were 19-8 ahead after 5 ends. At the halfway stage Wyrral Park increased their lead to 43-17. Wyrral Park were pulling away from Westland Sports and after 15 ends were leading 68-24. Wyrral Park didn't take Thier foot off the gas and pushed on over the last few ends winning all three rinks, winning 88-26 overall.

Wyrral Park are now top of South West 2 division collecting maximum points out of three games played so far.
