The men played their ninth game in the Mid Somerset League campaign yesterday evening where Frome Park were the visitors. This game was rescheduled from Wednesday 24th June due to the extreme heat.

It was a warm evening as Frome Park made the better start as Wyrral Park were behind 8-18 after 5 ends. There wasn't much in the game as the game approached the halfway stage as Wyrral Park were behind 21-29 after 10 ends. After the halfway stage Wyrral Park took advantage of playing at home as Wyrral Park were ahead 37-35 after 15 ends. Wyrral Park kept their lead held on over the last few ends of the game as Wyrral Park won two rinks, lost one rink, winning 45-41.

The men played in the first round of the Wedmore Plate last night. Wyrral Park entered this competition as they had lost a couple of weeks ago in the first round of the Turnbull Cup. The format was four rinks so a total of 16 players made the trip to play Castle Cary.

It was a warm evening and there wasn't much in it at the start but Wyrral Park were behind 17-24 at 5 ends. The game remained close but at the halfway stage Wyrral Park were behind 37-46 after 10 ends.

Wyrral Park adjusted to the green and made a comeback but we're still behind 55-58 after 15 ends and were in for a close finish. Wyrral Park couldn't quite make the difference up and won on one rink, losing on three rinks, losing overall 69-87.

The ladies played yesterday afternoon in the Wild League where Prattens were the visitors.

It was a hot afternoon and both teams agreed they would reduce the game to 12 ends because of the hot weather. Wyrral Park got off to a good start as they were ahead 21-8 after 5 ends. Wyrral Park kept their momentum going and were ahead 33-22 after 10 ends. The difference was too much for Prattens in the closing stages of the game with Wyrral Park winning on all three rinks, winning 47-20.5 overall.

Yesterday was the third club competition of the season with the Eyetech Pairs. With 8 pairs competing on a warm day, with each pair playing three games. There was only one pair that won all three games who were Kath and Dave Burnett who were the winners of the competition. There were two pairs that had won two games and drew one game with the runners up having a slightly better shot difference which were Andy and Bob. In third place were Joan and Trevor.
