HISTORY OF CMT

CMT has undergone a few name changes over the last 19 years. It was started in 1994 by chief instructor Bobby Quinn, who had ear marked Michael Johnston and Tommy Ross as instructors/ fighters from the very start. The club started off under the camp of Master Sken and John Craig, as the world famous Sitnarong Camp. After a few years a new camp formed named the Siamdornadair Camp with John Craig as the chief instructor, and Bobby acting as chief instructor for the Cumbernauld and Central areas. This camp would produce a world champ plus both British and Scottish champs, back in the day when there was real quality fights, not just gym champs. Later Bobby and John O’Brian broke away to form the S.T.B.A. and the camp name again changed to NKT, with clubs opening up all over the Strathclyde, Central and Ayrshire areas. The camp has produced some of the top fighters ever to come out of Scotland: Stevie Sheddon, Alex Sneddon, Stevie Houston, Mikey Johnston, Chris Craig, Scott Robertson and the now world champs Ally Smith, Lloyd Cockraine and Chrissy Shaw, to name but a few. Thai boxing in Scotland has never looked better. Back to the roots of the now named CMT which has been operating under the instruction of Mikey Johnston and Tommy Ross for the last 14 years. In the time it has seen the club produce some top quality fighters and instructors. Mikey and Tommy are the only two fully trained and qualified chief instructors, who have had the privilege of training with the likes of Master Sken, the late great Ramon Dekkers, Sandy Holt and Ronnie Greene, all of which are some of the biggest names in the sport to date. Mikey and Tommy have been graded to the equivalent of black belt 5th dans in most other martial arts. The next step for the guys would be to stay in Thailand and be graded as master, a dream which may one day be realised. In the whole CMT has come such a long way and are still growing and producing some great fighters/instructors.

But it's all set up again, they have our logo ready to go.

Tee shirts are £15 they come in black, navy blue or sky blue

The goodies are unfortunately now £40 and come in black or navy blue.

So if you want an order I need to know by the 17th of September so I can get them done.

The great news is we are putting in a CMT club short order on the 1st of October these are £40 and for the shorts only it's cash upfront as these need to be paid in full before they start the order. These are not made in the uk and take 6 to 8 weeks and I need a minimum order of 15 pairs.

They will be bright green with black writing and please size up when you order

We have 5 spaces left for the 7 to 8pm class at broadwood only

The second class is for the advanced students. But we have plenty room in that class. But you must be a current training student of 6 months or more to do the second class

Can students pay their class fees on time. As each week I've got people coming and not paying then forget they owe. Also for 3 kids classes it's £10.5 adults it's £15 for the 3 classes and you need to book in.

Right after an email from broadwood. NO STUDENTS will be permitted to train without a tee shirt on. Also DO NOT LEAVE THE DOJO without a tee shirt ir top on. As there have been complaints made as well as hygiene standards. Also DO NOT HIT BAGS WITHOUT GLOVES ON. If you see any blood on the bags tell me and the same for the dojo floor.

As always remember the numbers cap of 40 as well as ABSOLUTELY NO FOOTWEAR ON THE MATS.

And issuse come to me or davie right away

down at the K.A.M.M.A interclub with max, jack charlie and olly. The boys are looking great. But it's far to busy to get any videos just now.
They absolutely do NOT look out of place. And to say im proud of the boys is an understatement.

I will post up anything I can get ASAP. But safe to say max is literally walking through them and has not taken on easy fighters.
But tbh none of our lads have taken easy fighters.

For anyone interested in doing these please let us know. And make sure you are putting in the work outside of class.

Max is on a seek and destroy mission🤣👍
Jack is looking for more technical matches but is mixing it up. 🙏👏
Charlie is looking way more aggressive and less standing about and has shown some really nice rounds. 🙏👏
Olly has looked to mix strength with movement and has worked very well.🙏👏

So overall the boys are looking great. 🙏👏🙏👏
