Over the years we’ve been big supporters of an animal sanctuary - Mossburn Community Farm - and they’re back with a fundraising bike ride - if you can afford to, please do help support this amazing charity.
There’s some stunning bike riding to be done in and around Mossburn - why not take your bike and combine a ride with a visit to the animals.
Mossburn provides sanctuary for animals in need, whether they have been neglected, abandoned or their owners can no longer care for them.
Mossburn also provides animal assisted therapy which gives a wide range of people many benefits, including helping with anxiety, giving comfort, reducing loneliness and increasing mental stimulation.
Mossburn is free to visit and as a community resource this is incredible. Time spent with animals is phenomenal for mental health and wellbeing. However, looking after the residents is not cheap with regular vets bills and the costs of feeding being especially high at the moment - an average month sees around £1000 being spent on feed bills alone. Please do support this special place and better yet, go and visit and experience it for yourself.
This year them riding from Annan on the Solway Coast through the Borders to reach Portobello Beach - a Scottish Coast to Coast.
