[email protected] Hello and welcome to Glasgow! Our abilities are varied.

When you join the GUHC you are joining one of the most popular, friendly and talented clubs at Glasgow University. The strangers that you meet at your first session will become your best friends for the rest of your uni life and beyond. Members of the hockey club have been know to share lectures, train together, live together and eat together. The Men's club have 3 competitive teams, and the Women's club have 6 competitive teams. With a membership of well over 200 students you will do well to spend a day without seeing a single hockey player, most likely in their GUHC gear. From the most dedicated and talented athletes to the complete beginners, everyone is welcome. At training you will be playing with players who have gained district, county and even international experience whilst getting valuable advice from top level coaches. There is also a superb social side to the club, which is unrivaled in the rest of Glasgow. This is down to our glorious social committee, who will be out to make sure everyone has a good time. 🚨 We’re Hiring! 🚨
The University of Glasgow men’s Hockey Club is looking for a new Head Coach to lead our performance squad

What we’re looking for:
 
• Strong technical & tactical hockey knowledge
• Excellent communication skills
• Organised, reliable, and a great team player
• Experience developing young or inexperienced players
• Committed to continuous professional development
• Scottish / FIH Level 2 Coaching Qualification (or working towards it)
• Experience at National League level (or equivalent)
• First Aid trained
 
 
Key responsibilities:
 
• Lead weekly training for men’s Performance squads
• Manage squad selection & matchday line-ups
• Plan and deliver high-performance training sessions
• Analyse performance (including video analysis)
• Deliver and oversee pre-season from August 2026
• Collaborate with staff, coaches & club committee
 
 
Commitment: 4–12 hours per week during the season (depending on availability) 
Salary: £4,000–£5,000 (self-employed basis) 
Application Deadline: 7th September 2026

The University of Glasgow men’s Hockey Club is looking for a new Head Coach to lead our performance squad

What we’re looking for:

• Scottish / FIH Level 2 Coaching Qualification (or working towards it)
• Experience at National League level (or equivalent)
• First Aid trained
