CALLANETICS® was developed in the 70's as the brain child of a Callan Pinckney. She developed it as a self help method to alleviate injury and pain, after extensive travelling. As it was low impact, it immediately gained popularity and claimed to allow users to turn back the clock on their body. Essentially, you perform an increasing number of small controlled pulse like movements on major muscle groups in the body. Through this deep exercising of the muscle layers, they became leaner and tighter through contraction and stretching, which allowed users to gain a sleeker silhouette and hence look as they did 10 years previously. Today, the whole CALLANETICS® movement has developed and newer more advanced techniques are used. All moves are biomechanically assessed prior to use and tested through instructors to ensure they produce results. There are no barriers to participating in CALLANETICS® through the Mary Adams technique-neither age, gender or ability; only a will to improve your general well being, strength, confidence and physique.

Morning all, weekend weather a bit better than predicted, so with our grandson managed Callander again and some good walks. Happy holidays to Anne K, Carole Ann and Heldo this week. Enjoy your breaks girls and safe travels. A few of you back from holiday this week so looking forward to seeing you all and catching up on your lovely holiday snaps. Great to have Audrey join us on a morning walk this week - we walk at 6 on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and a bit later at 6.30 Tuesday and Thursday. Mind and message to say you're joining us so we don't leave you behind! All classes as normal this week after messing you about a bit last week. Thinking of all of you who are under par just now and hoping life improves soon. Gillian soldering on with her issues, Tracy barely coping with her back pain and poor Fiona C is struggling to shift a cough that is keeping her company for way too long. Mike in today to see some of you for the first time and others for a top up as we say. See you all at the barre and keep that focus!

Morning all, bit wet yesterday wasn't it and the weekend looks damp too. Happy holidays to Malaga and Carol this week - your weather has to be better than ours. Happy birthday to June today and hoping your weather in Arran is being kind to you. Maggie hope Tilly got on ok at the vet? Our pets become like family members don't they and we worry when vets suggest further investigation. Been a quiet week as I've had to cancel a day and of course so many of you are on holiday. Hopefully next week we'll see more of each other. We'll continue with the weighted gloves and add in feet on the mirror for the core set . Thanks to all of you who look after the studio in my absence - appreciated. I'm still battling Scottish Power who seem to be supplying me weekly with a new account - very difficult company to deal with. Onwards and upwards. Good to see that more of you are using Mike on the Mondays he works from our studio. He has produced new leaflets with a clearer explanation of what he does, so hopefully that clarity will help our understanding of his work. Wishing you all a good weekend whatever you do and take a brolly with you when you head out! Keep that focus!

Morning all, hope you're all doing well. I had a lovely break wandering around Scotland and ate and drank way too much - the down side of relaxing! I think I'll find it hard getting back into a routine even although it was only a week off. I hear some of you had sad news of friends that have passed - sorry to hear this. I too had some bad news when in Aberdeen, a cousin of mine had passed on, so sadly I have to cancel some classes. The funeral is Wednesday morning in Kintore, so a long drive up and down. Fortunately, some of you are going to run the morning classes in my absence, but the 5.15 will need to be cancelled. Apologies for this. On a brighter note, our holiday makers to sunnier countries seem to be having a lovely break. Despite it only being September, both the mornings and the evenings are just a wee bit darker than I would like. Before we know it we'll be in gloves and hats, though can't complain as still warm albeit wet some days. Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Hello there, it's the weekend and you all get peace and quiet from me for a week. Lovely to see so many of you in the studio this past week. Delighted to welcome Mhairi to our fold and good to see Kirstie again after joining us last week. Birthday shout out to Michelle for during the week and Marie for the weekend. I'm sure you both were/will be spoiled. Adele finally recovered from her birthday celebrations -naturally she's blaming the neighbours for an impromptu gathering! Happy holidays to many of you who are away next week and the following; Mary V off to Italy ( she'll come back with more new coats), Di to Fuerteventura -she'll come back beautifully tanned, June to Findhorn then Arran, Yvonne and the family to Portugal and Toni to Greece to top up that tan with her friends. I'm heading up north to visit family and chill for a week - no doubt the rain will follow me, but a change of scenery will be good. So keep the focus, keep up the walks and enjoy life - make sure there is laughter in every day!

Morning everyone, wasn't that a glorious weekend of weather? Bet you all did the usual - strip your beds, towels and grab everything you could possibly wash to get it outside to dry. Then of course the garden would beckon you. I did all of the above and am back at the studio for a rest. The Kirkintilloch Festival was on this weekend too and I was there with my grandson, trying out the games at the church adjacent to the noisy and very fast show rides. Made my stomach lurch to look at them! Birthday shout out this week for our Adele - hope you have a fantastic day and get spoiled! Well done to the weight loss girls - great focus planning your healthy meals while adding in some extra exercise. I am holiday next week, but feel free to use the studio as you wish. I'm not going abroad, but taking a bit of time to relax in our beautiful Scotland - fingers crossed it stays dry for some walking. Set this week is a classic one with no weights or toys. Weights are always optional and some of you like a set of light weights to do your core work. Finally, Mike is in the studio today, but like me, some of you are finding it difficult to log in - if in doubt just email him. See you all soon!

Morning all, been a tricky week with Scottish Power cutting off the power supply 3 times. An emergency team came out yesterday and replaced the meter. Hopefully we have full power from here on in. Congratulations to Donna this week on the birth of another grand daughter. Lovely to see the photos of these beautiful babies. Delighted to welcome Kirstie to our community. Thanks for choosing us and hope to see you soon. Pleased that June managed in to class for a catch up after her fall. Still uncomfortable, but wound improving slowly. A throat lurgy doing the rounds recently, so look after yourselves. Heldo back from Lisbon and Lippy off to Mallorca for a break now. It's a revolving door of holidays here. Best to catch the sun while you can, it's a long dreich winter in Glasgow.
Michael has asked me to attach a link so you can book appointments. It is

Morning all, hope your weekend was restful. I've ben painting the close in Millport and then flat hunting in Largs - no success though. Delighted that Carla's daughter Kayleigh has now delivered a beautiful baby girl. Both well and happy. Lovely way to start off the week, with Carla being the happiest of Nonnas. Not so good news is that June fell getting on the train to Edinburgh and has damaged her leg quite considerably. Nothing broken, but sometimes it's worse to suffer ligament damage. Open wound she tells me and the other leg has matching swelling and bruising. Poor girl - we send you our very best for a speedy recovery. Fiona R seems to be slowly improving and hopes to ease herself back into a small class by the end of next week. It really does take time after a stroke to resume your normal life, so we'll look after you and make sure you take it very easy when you come to class. Well done to Jenny who has now completed the St Cuthbert's Way in jig time. I'm very jealous, but once I retire from here I'll be on it! Before I forget, the Wednesday evening class is cancelled this week as Fiona C and I are heading in for a scan - after which I will negotiate rush hour traffic! I think we're on the big ball this week folks so love it or hate it, it's a welcome respite from sit to stand and we can add in some press ups on the ball too!. Still keeping the balance work going though. Look forward to seeing you all soon - keep that focus!

Morning all, great week of sunshine and just the odd shower - always sunshine when the schools go back. The Eclipse was the big news this week, but sadly most of us only viewed it on social media despite being organised for said viewing. Great that you all got a bit of quad feedback in class this week - I'll go easy on you next week. Also this week we had Catherine off enjoying a wedding - think she got the short straw of driving though and Heldo off to Lisbon for a long weekend break. Audrey back from Mallorca and now off to Jersey. Poor Alison has had hip problems so missing class this week - hope that psses soon. Ann McP down with the throat lurgi and Gillian under par too. Vimpto still obsessed with bowling and winning lots of games. She had changed her attitude mid week from 'it's all about winning', to ' it's the participation that counts' when she lost one game! Carla's daughter due her baby any second now, so we're all very excited about this as it's been a tricky pregnancy. Well done to Eleanor for breaking her attendance record this week and joining us on morning walks - fantastic Eleanor! Sadly you're back at school next week, but hopefully you'll get your regular classes in. Enjoy your weekend everyone and see you all soon.

Hello there, how was your weekend? We had such a lovely dry afternoon for the Springburn Allotment Open Day which made all the difference. Thanks to those of you who managed to come down for a visit. The week ahead looks so much better than last week, so less rain and some heat again. Sadly for the children, the weather usually picks up the minute the schools return. Glasgow schools back today for teachers, so yes to increased traffic at rush hours and then next week East Dunbartonshire are back too. In the blink of an eye it will be the September weekend break then the October week. Set this week is with the yoga block and the chairs for sit to stand. More wall sits to strengthen those quads and standing hip and thigh. See you all soon.

Friday already, seemed like a quick week. Last weekend off for all of you working in the Glasgow Education system as teachers back on Monday. East Dunbartonshire has fared a little better with another week to enjoy the summer break. Weather has been a bit damp and the morning walkers are now all waterproof. A few days of being soaked makes you miserable. Still we took it in out stride and laughed at how ridiculous we all looked - especially Toni's hair! Three of us went for a walk up Schiehallion yesterday - when you've not been up a hill for a while you certainly feel it. The old bones are a bit stiff this morning. George and I tried the Ottoman Coffee House on Berkley Street on Wednesday for lunch. Interesting building but service a bit slow. The highlight for me was almost bumping into Justin Currie on the way out! Remember everyone that Mike Daly is here on Monday from 10.30 and plans to run his clinic every fortnight now. To book and appointment or just chat to him, his email is; [email protected]
In the interim, have a great weekend and keep that focus!
