FULL-TIME | LEAGUE CUP 🏆⚽️
A really good game of football between ourselves and Braehead Football Club in our final League Cup group game yesterday.
Braehead came out strong and found themselves 2-0 up at half-time, with a deflected own goal and then a defensive mistake which the Braehead forward took full advantage of.
We made a few changes at half-time and quickly found ourselves back in the game, with Robbie going through on goal and finishing well to make it 2-1. Daniel then came close on a few occasions, but the Braehead goalkeeper made some important saves to keep his team in front.
Braehead restored their two-goal advantage to make it 3-1, but the boys didn't let their heads go down and continued to push.
We pulled another goal back with a fantastic team goal. The ball was played out from the back into Wills in central midfield, who first-time pinged it out wide to Robbie. Robbie took on his defender before delivering a fantastic cross into the box, where Lewis arrived to power home a bullet header and make it 3-2. 🔥⚽️
We then had Braehead on the ropes with another great opportunity. Lewis' shot was blocked, with the ball falling to Jude, whose effort was also blocked by the keeper to keep the score at 3-2.
Overall, a really good game of football between two teams who played the game in the right manner and tried to play football the way it should be played.
Well done to Braehead, who finish top of the group and progress through to the semi-finals.
I'm sure we'll have plenty more good games between these two teams throughout the season. 🤝🏻
