⚽ CMFA Whites – Match Recap⚽

Final Score: 5-1 WIN

What a great performance at Mearns Castle Pitches on Sunday, we kicked off at 2pm to wrap up our last 11s transition game! This was the performance we’ve all been waiting for and the smile on the boys faces at the end said it all 😁⚽🥅💪

A big shout out to Zack who joined the boys internally and had a cracking game. Thanks also to John Sutton's coach who loaned us Donald to make it 11 a side, his real team mates won't be thanking him though as he scored against them 🫣.

The boys played some brilliant football in the ☀️. We created lots of chances and could’ve been 5 up before the break. Speaking to the coaches...The best part? The passing, movement, and work rate were exactly what we’ve been working on in training.

In the second half we got the goals that were fully deserved. Total control, moving the ball our way and it was great to see all the hard work in training paying off!

The Blacks last 11s Transition game is on Sunday against 1st touch football. The way the boys have progressed considering they have 5 new teammates since their season finished has been brilliant, hopefully finish off strong and put all their hardwork in training into practice. Then it'll be a short break and into a tough pre season. 🖤🧡

On Sunday, the Whites took on Busby FC Oranges at 12.30pm at Toryglen Regional Football Centre, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw ⚽⚽⚽⚽

It was tough for all the boys in the scorching heat 🥵, and unfortunately we had no substitutes — a huge advantage for Busby. The boys gave everything on the pitch and put in a great shift, leaving them knackered at full time 😩

It should’ve been our first win since switching to 11-a-side football, as we were the better side overall. We played some great football, scoring two well-deserved goals and creating plenty of chances. If we had taken more of them, we could have won this game comfortably. Busby relied on long balls all game, and with a bit more concentration we could have prevented at least one of their goals 🥅. Huge credit goes out to the Busby keeper as he made a great save from the penalty spot.

The pitch conditions were terrible and really disrupted our style of play. It looked like a beach ⛱️, with large patches of sand across the surface. The grass was also far too long, and the markings were barely visible.

As the coaches said, they were so proud of every single player on Sunday. The effort was outstanding, especially in that heat — you could see it in every challenge. It was great to see the fight, the work rate, and how the boys never let their heads drop; our positioning and tackling looked much sharper 💪👍⚽🥅

One more game before the break, and the boys will work hard with the coaches this week to get in top shape and secure a win next Sunday afternoon against John Sutton.

Today the Blacks officially said goodbye and goodluck to big Finlay and Harrison. Both brilliant boys who will be sorely missed by each and everyone of the boys and coaches. Played to their usual quality today, they will be hard to replace! Goodluck for the future boys and definitely keep in touch. 🧡🖤 🧡 🖤

⚽️ Charlie Miller Whites ⚽

It’s been a busy and productive week for the team with training sessions on Monday and Friday, and a hard-fought victory against St Rochs on Wednesday night.

The team started strongly, producing some excellent football and taking our chances to head into half time with a comfortable lead. The second half was a much more competitive battle, but the boys showed great character, determination and teamwork to see out the win.
A fantastic effort from everyone involved 👏

Now we look ahead to Sunday and the next challenge💪
