Good news, everyone… the new Halfway House will officially be OPEN for business on Saturday 13th June during the:

🏌️ Gents Medal (2nd Qualifying Round Club & Seniors Championship)

🏌️‍♀️ Ladies Jubilee Cup (3rd Qualifying Round Club & Bronze Championship)

After plenty of member requests, we’re delighted to say… you asked, and we delivered. 🍫🥤🥪

We’ll be serving:

• Soft drinks
• Bottled Beers
• Wine
• Sandwiches
• Crisps
• Sweets

So whether you’re needing a quick snack, a sugar boost after a disastrous front nine, or simply an excuse to stop and complain about your putting, we’ve got you covered.

Please remember to bring your Bar Card or cash with you.

We’re hoping for good support from members as we get this up and running, and if all goes well, we’ll continue operating throughout the summer season.

Also, please be kind to our very first resident staff member in the Halfway House… our very own Past Captain, David McKay. He’s bravely accepted the role and, at his age, operating a cash machine and opening a packet of cheese & onion at the same time deserves everyone’s patience and respect. 😄

We look forward to seeing plenty of you there!

A great club culture means leaving the course better than we found it. Here’s a quick refresher on how proper bunker raking ensures a fair lie and a great experience for your fellow members.

Many thanks

⛳ Flag Indicators
We’ve updated our pin indicators to make them easier to spot from the fairway. The system remains the same, just with a fresh look and slightly adjusted positions for better visibility.

Steady progress out on the course. It’s coming together bit by bit, and we’re excited to see the vision take shape. We’ll be zooming in on finer details and refinements next.

Many thanks

Course Update:
Maintenance Progress 🌄

The recent spell of favorable dry weather has allowed the team to accelerate our maintenance schedule. With our primary cut lines firmly established, we are now focused on refining course presentation, including the consistent application of our signature crisscross patterns across the fairways and aprons and the refurbishment of course furniture.

In addition to these aesthetic improvements, we have been working to enhance playability through several key maintenance tasks:

Surface Refinement:
We are applying light top-dressings of FS9 sand to ensure optimal smoothness and trueness across our surfaces.

Tee Management:
Our high-traffic tees have received a granular application, while all other tees have been treated with a tailored liquid feed. We are also pleased to report that the new 17th tee is taking shape well with regular, light cuts and is now in use for competitions.

Green Management:
The greens are receiving their spring nutrition alongside our Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) strategy to tighten surface quality. We are currently implementing a gradual reduction in height of cut, moving to 5mm, and we aim to reach 4.5 mm next week to maximize the impact of our ongoing surface refinement processes.

As we transition from the intensive maintenance month of April toward our May schedule, the focus on providing consistent, high-quality surfaces becomes king. We look forward to seeing you on the course.
