🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️ IRVINE SPRINT TRIATHLON 2026 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏊‍♂️

Fusion Triathlon turned out in force on Sunday, with a huge 22 athletes flying the club colours at the Irvine Sprint Triathlon! Massive effort from everyone who got up early and got stuck in.

☀️ The conditions were glorious — sunny and warmer than expected, with water temps warm enough that wetsuits were optional (though naturally, every single one of our athletes suited up anyway).

Across the board it was a fantastic team performance — strong swims out of the water from every single athlete, followed by some seriously impressive bike legs that showed just how much work has gone in over the winter months, and then respectable runs to bring it home. Real credit to everyone for showing up and giving it their all in every discipline!!

😬 Shoutout of the day has to go to Angus, who came off his bike at the dismount line and still picked himself up to storm to 3rd overall and 1st in his age group. That’s the kind of grit we love to see!

And of course, a big well done to every single one of our 22 athletes who took on the swim, bike, and (surprise) sand dunes on Sunday:

At the weekend three of triathletes travelled down to sunny Wales to represent Scotland at the Celtic Cup. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

After a short recce the day before they knew they were in for a lovely hilly ride with some brilliant views.

Following a decision to reduce the swim distance due to high winds our triathletes took to the start line.

After pushing through a windy swim, tough bike route, many laps on the run and with the help of some VERY important spectators they all finished with a strong result.

Massive congratulations to Miriam who finished 1st female and 3rd over the line overall!🥇

Amazing result from Carys finishing an an excellent 1st U20 female!!🥇

A big well done to Beppo for a strong finish and a result of 2nd in the male 55-59 category! 🥈

Well done everyone, brilliant racing!! 🩵🤍🖤

🚨RACE RECAPS🚨

The last few weeks has seen many of our triathletes racing.

Last month the Chapmans and Beppo travelled down to Northumberland to race at the festival of sport. Rebecca representing our junior section in the tristars aquathlon. Erin racing in the sprint tri and Andrew and Beppo the standard tri. All 4 finished with respectful results and a reminder that warmer water temperatures do exist!

Next up is Beppo who was representing GB at the 2026 Europe Triathlon Championships in Tarragona, Spain. Although a warm race, Beppo still pushed through finishing with a very strong result of 5th brit over the line and 24th in his age group. Amazing Beppo, well done!

Following on from this was the Lakesman triathlon. Many of our triathletes travelled down to The Lake District to race a half. Every athlete showed strong endurance and determination to get to the line. A very well done to Colin who finished 2nd in his age group. Amazing results from Gavin, Shelley, Alison, David, Susan, Jennifer and Kristin!

Last up was Loch Ore aquathlon where Carys represented fusion. She finished with a very impressive first female overall. Fantastic result Carys!

A very well done to everyone that raced! Apologies if I have missed anyone.

Next race coming up is the Celtic Cup in Wales where Carys, Miriam and Beppo are all representing Scotland. Good luck everyone! 🍀

🩵🖤🤍FUSION JUNIOR PARKRUN TAKEOVER🤍🖤🩵 Over the weekend saw Fusion Tri at roukenglen park. We had 8 juniors running and 17 seniors volunteering. Thank you to those who helped marshal and a massive well done to our brilliant juniors running!!! A big thank you to Roukenglen Junior Parkrun for having us we had a fantastic morning!
