A relaxing space in the south of the city, Studio 70 is Glasgow Southside's newest yoga studio. Our aim is to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for people to explore awareness of body and mind through mindful movement. Our community is inclusive to all ages, body types and abilities. We offer a range of classes in Flow, Restorative, Meditation, pregnancy and classes designed for kids, teens and over 50s.

Mind that thing you said you’d do this year? September is a pretty good time to start it. 👀

In fact, I’d argue that it’s an even better time to start working on your goals than January becauseeeee…

1️⃣ It’s a natural time to reset. After a summer of travel, socialising and putting everyone/everything else first, September can be such a nice time to prioritise yourself again.

2️⃣ You’ve got time to build the habit before Christmas. Starting in September gives you months to make new habits part of your routine before the end-of-year chaos.

3️⃣ It feels less pressured. January is full of “new year, new me” expectations. September can be about simply doing something good for yourself.

4️⃣ You can still make this year count. There’s no reason January has to be the deadline for your goals.

5️⃣ You’re not fighting the January slump. Let’s be honest, January in Glasgow is cold, dark and exhausting. I definitely find that the brighter days of September give me more energy and momentum.

Is your yoga practice anti-racist?

At the time, 2020 felt like a major turning point for racial reckoning within the Western yoga and wellness industry.

There seemed to be an urgent and widespread desire to challenge white normativity, amplify marginalised voices, and to decolonise the industry and YTT curricula.

But did anything actually change materially for Black and Brown practitioners, or was it all performative activism?

This clip is from a 2023 discussion on racism and yoga between our founder & wisdom traditions holder and anti-racism educator . It feels just as relevant three years on.

So, how can we create anti-racist, inclusive and representative spaces? How can we challenge the legacy of colonial thinking in the yoga industry?

Our two-day online course with aims to answer these questions in a brave and supported environment:

* Learn about how power, privilege and oppression operate in both wider society and the yoga industry
* Discover more about yoga’s South Asian roots - and the impact of colonialism on the practice
* Empower yourself to work towards a liberatory practice rooted in justice and equity
