Pride is for everyone because it is, at its heart, a celebration of diversity.

At Hillhead, we come from different backgrounds, cultures, beliefs and life experiences. We play different sports, support different teams, speak different languages and follow different paths through life.

That diversity is one of our greatest strengths. It makes our club more welcoming, vibrant and interesting, and helps create the community we all value.

🏆 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫: 𝐍𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨 🏆

Volunteers have, since our inception in 1892, long been the lifeblood of our memorial Trust and its sporting sections. As the Trust, and the sports it offers, continues to grow, encouraging new people to step forward is vital to our future.

This annual award is presented in honour of former Trust Chair Alan Wilson, whose many, many hours of volunteer service exemplify the spirit of Hillhead.

It recognises a 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 who has stepped up and made a real contribution over the past year. We want to hear about someone who has helped others, supported their section or the wider Club, and shown the Hillhead spirit in action.

They might be involved in rugby, tennis, cricket, Ultimate Frisbee, Run Club, social events, grounds, fundraising, or any other part of club life – and like last year’s Volunteer of the Year, Barri Gilani, provide inspiration to all our members.

The HSC Board will review nominations and select a winner, who will receive a  £𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 generously donated for this purpose.

Please send a short note with your nomination, explaining what the person has contributed to the Trust through volunteering in their sport, and why they deserve recognition, to [email protected] by 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞.

Let’s celebrate the people helping to build the next chapter of Hillhead.

We were delighted to welcome local MP Patricia Ferguson to Hillhead Sports Club.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the fantastic work taking place across the club, introduce some of the volunteers and coaches who help make it all possible, and discuss our ambitions for the future of Hughenden.

It was particularly encouraging to speak about the importance of community sport, sustainability, participation and protecting the unique “green lung” the site represents within the city.

There is a real sense of excitement around the future of the club and our aspiration to become the best multi-sport club in Scotland.

We’d like to thank Patricia for taking the time to visit us at Hughenden.

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR HSC'S CLUBHOUSE 🍻 🏉 🎾 🥏 ⚽️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏏

We’re delighted to confirm that the Trust has now formally concluded a full agreement with the operators of Courts.

Already soft launched, Courts has brought a vibrant new energy into the Clubhouse environment, with one of the largest sports screens in Glasgow, live sport shown all year round, new food offerings, member discounts and major plans still to come.

• Live sport across multiple sports all year round
• Pints from just £4.05 for members
• 10% member discount with valid membership card
• Darts board already in play
• Pool table incoming

🌍 FIFA WORLD CUP FAN ZONE

Courts and the Trust are already working together on plans for what we hope will become the West End’s premier FIFA World Cup fan zone.

Trust members will receive exclusive priority access and additional member-focused benefits. More details coming very soon 👀

🤝 ONE CLUB, MANY SPORTS

The vision for Courts is simple:
A welcoming, sport-focused and community-minded social hub for the whole Club, somewhere equally suited to post-match food and drinks, family weekends, watching live sport and wider Club events.

We’ve also asked Courts to work closely with the Trust and our Social & Fundraising Subcommittee to help develop more club-wide social events and initiatives for members, families and the wider community throughout the year.
