Bellahouston Aikido Ki Aikido Club,Tuesday 8.45pm to 9.45pm and Friday 8pm to 9pm at Bellahouston Sports Centre.

Aikido is a dynamic, exciting Japanese martial art that uses throws and holds based on techniques developed by Samurai warriors. Far from the cut throat world of feudal Japan though, Aikido is a peaceful form of self-defence that teaches you to blend with an attacker and use their momentum and weight against them so you can neutralise their attack without causing unnecessary damage. not uncommon to see our smallest women putting the biggest guys firmly into the mat with hardly any effort and without a second thought!

Fitness night in Cowan park (individual and group practice) included, ki, fresh air, break falls, slalom footwork around trees, techniques, walks, 3/4 mile run and 1.5 mile run and most importantly socialising and mindfulness!!!!!!

Although I enjoy a holiday as much as anyone, I never take a vacation from Aikido, health, fitness and wellbeing!!!!!!!!

Great effort from Lee after Friday's Aikido session. Brilliant to see charities like the kilt walk being supported by students. Lee, katie and myself will be participating in this 22 miles of torture!!!!! (the following class may be a bit more gentler than normal)!!!!!!!
