***PRESS RELEASE ***
We are delighted to announce that Burns Gym is now supporting residents at Huntington Hills Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Melville, New York. A huge thanks to Josef Simpser and team for their support!

As part of our continued expansion across the United States, residents at Huntington Hills are taking part in our live weekly Age With Vitality™ sessions, bringing movement, social connection and enjoyment directly into the home. We are proud to be working alongside the team at Huntington Hills and grateful for their belief in our mission to help older adults age with vitality, regardless of location.

Earlier this year, I connected with Joe and Tony Burns of Burns Gym right here on LinkedIn.

Two Scottish brothers in kilts delivering virtual fitness classes to our residents 3,000 miles away. I know how that sounds. But what started as a conversation became something our residents look forward to every single week.

Joe and Tony built Burns Gym around a simple but powerful idea: that movement, connection, and joy don’t have an age limit. Watching that philosophy show up on a screen in our activity room every week has been something special.

The residents love it, the staff join in, and the energy in that room is real. As Tony said, “It’s been incredible to see both residents and staff embrace the Age With Vitality™ programme each week.”

This is exactly the kind of innovative thinking long-term care needs more of. Not every solution comes from a conference room or a vendor catalog. Sometimes it comes from a LinkedIn connection and a shared belief that our residents deserve better than the status quo. Joe put it simply, that finding partners who genuinely care about innovation and resident wellbeing is what makes this work.

Thank you Joe Burns and Tony Burns BSc (Hons) for what you bring to Huntington Hills every week. We are proud to be part of what you are building at Burns Gym!

I recently sat down with Professor Jugdeep Dhesi, President of the British Geriatrics Society and Co-Chair of the Frailty and Dementia Modern Service Framework.

During our discussion, we explored topics including physical activity, exercise, falls prevention, frailty, sarcopenia, and maintaining independence in later life.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing a series of short clips from our conversation.

In this first clip, Professor Dhesi answers the question:

Why is physical activity and exercise so important as we get older?

The full discussion will also be available on the Burns Gym YouTube channel.

Thank you to Professor Dhesi and the British Geriatrics Society for their support and involvement.
