Glasgow School of Sport Scotland's first school dedicated to sporting excellence has been developed at Bellahouston Academy

Specialist sports pupils are fully integrated with the school and follow a balanced curriculum of academic studies together with their sports specialism. Sports pupils receive coaching within the school day, which is carefully timetabled around their academic subjects such as Mathematics and English. Specialist provision is intended to ensure that such pupils are given the best opportunity to deve

lop their sporting talents as part of their School Education. Great care is taken to provide pupils with every opportunity to maximise not only their sporting but also their academic potential. The School of Sport has five sports specialisms, athletics, badminton, gymnastics, hockey and swimming. Pupils specialise in one sport and entry to the School of Sport is by selection only. The School of Sport offers one of the best high performance coaching teams in the country. These coaches have competed or coached at a national level in their sport and many have received top coaching awards. The high performance coaching team develops and delivers individualised programmes to pupils

GSOS swimmers Ellie-Louise Kennedy & Nikolai Sisnett have arrived in London and are ready to take on the AquaticsGB Swimming Championships! πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ

The action runs from Tuesday 14th to Sunday 19th April at the London Aquatics Centre, where the very best in Britain will be racing for a spot at this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow! πŸ†

GSOS Badminton - Alfie Martin – Triple Champion

It was a successful day for the Glasgow School of Sport at the Scottish National U17 Championships. Our players delivered consistent performances at the Sir Craig Reedie Centre, coming away with several podium finishes.

The Triple Crown**
The standout performance came from Alfie Martin, who secured a title in every discipline to become a Triple Champion:

Huge congratulations to the newly crowned European Women’s Singles Champion - Kirsty Gilmour.

After an incredible journey and five previous silver medals, Kirsty has finally claimed the Gold in Huelva, Spain.

While this is a monumental moment for Scottish badminton, it is an especially proud day for the Glasgow School of Sport and Bellahouston Academy where Kirsty spent her early years training!

A Journey of Grit and Excellence -
Even then, she was a standoutβ€”perfectly balancing her academics with elite-level training. Since moving on to train full-time, we have watched her go from strength to strength, and today, she reached the absolute pinnacle.

GSOS March Gymnast of the Month - Skye Roddie

Skye has shown a real step forward towards senior performance habits this month.

She has been working hard not only on her gymnastic-specific build-up to competitions but also on developing maturity in how she uses support services such as physiotherapy, sport science, nutrition, and psychology during the peak competition phase of her programme.

By embracing every aspect of her training environment, Skye is maximising all areas of her performance and continuing to grow as an athlete.

Our swimmers are heading to Aberdeen to compete at the Scottish National Age Group Championships which will take place at the Aberdeen Aquatic Centre from Saturday 4th to Wednesday 8th April!

They’ll be going up against the very best age group swimmers in Scotland across an action-packed five days of racing β€” and we couldn’t be prouder πŸ’ͺ
