🏟️ A major step forward for Chirnsyde and Milton

We’re delighted to share an exciting development in our ambitions for Chirnsyde Playing Fields in Milton, Glasgow (North).

Following approval of funding through the Vacant and Derelict Land Fund (VDLF), we have now been given the go-ahead to re-engage with specialist contractors and progress the Site Investigation works at Chirnsyde.

This is an important milestone.

The Site Investigation will allow us to better understand the condition of the land and, subject to the findings, help determine the pathway towards bringing forward our wider vision for the site.

This project is very much a partnership effort between Ashfield Football Club & Academy and Athena Glasgow Woman & Girls Academy, built around a shared ambition to create something that delivers lasting benefit for Milton and the surrounding community.

There is still work to do, and the Site Investigation is an important part of that process. But if the site can be successfully cleared for future development, this could represent a crucial step forward in transforming Chirnsyde into a real Pride of Place for Milton — creating a facility and community asset that local people can be proud of for generations to come.

For everyone who has supported the vision, contributed behind the scenes and continued to believe in what Chirnsyde could become — this is another significant piece of the journey falling into place.

Onwards for Chirnsyde. Onwards for Milton. 💙⚽
