This weekend, we celebrate fathers and father figures and the important role they play in children’s lives.

When children experience warm, consistent and nurturing relationships, they are more likely to feel safe, confident and connected. And dads are a vital part of that story.

At Mellow Parenting, we believe every parent deserves support to build strong relationships with their children and create positive change that lasts. 💙 Happy Fathers’ Day to all the dads and father figures making a difference every day.

Too few male facilitators. Too many dads missing out.

Mellow Dads and Mellow Dads-to-Be are targeted father-focused support programmes available across the UK.

But one of the biggest barriers to delivering them is a shortage of male-trained facilitators.

Male facilitators make a difference. They help dads feel seen, safe, and willing to engage. This June, we’re changing that. Are you in?

This June, we’re offering 15% off Mellow Dads and Dads-to-Be facilitator training. Places are limited - don’t miss out!

Mellow Dads and Mellow Dads to Be are evidence-based programmes that transform how fathers experience parenthood, and we need more men trained to deliver them.

The offer is open to male Practitioners across the UK. One trained facilitator can change the lives of dads and their babies, because when fathers thrive, children and families thrive too.

ℹ️ Want to know more?

Mellow for Young People is a structured, relationship-based programme designed to promote young people’s mental health, wellbeing, and resilience during adolescence.

Delivered through a flexible 12-session group model, the programme provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing space where young people can explore brain development, emotions, relationships, and their lived experiences.

Using strengths-based activities and individual reflective journals, increasing their sense of wellbeing, the programme supports young people to build emotional awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, and strengthen their relational skills.

Fatherhood can be tough. Support shouldn’t be hard to find. Yet for many dads across the UK, it is.

Whether it’s stigma, services that don’t feel relevant, or simply no local group available, fathers are missing out.

Mellow Dads and Mellow Dads-to-Be are designed to change that. And we need more trained male facilitators to deliver them.

Could that be you? 📲 Book your discounted place at [email protected] with code IFMHD26 for 15% off.

Join us at the next Mellow Up! event with Infant Mental Health Specialist, Robin Balbernie, for a thoughtful and practical day exploring attachment, relationships, and responsive practice.

Robin’s keynote session, “Understanding Attachment: How Early Relationships Shape Us”, will explore how early experiences influence a child’s sense of safety, emotional regulation, and future relationships. The session will also look at reflective functioning and mentalising, attachment patterns in children and adults, and how these can shape parenting and partner relationships.

In the afternoon, we’ll focus on “Responsive, Relationship-Centred Mellow Practice for Supporting Diverse Needs”. Together, we’ll explore adaptable, curiosity-led approaches that help Practitioners build stronger connections, open richer conversations, and respond sensitively to the needs of parents, carers, and young people. Expect practical ideas you can take straight into your Mellow groups and one-to-one work.

🕘 The day includes:
- Refreshments on arrival
- Two keynote sessions with Robin Balbernie
- Lunch and opportunities to connect
- Interactive afternoon practice session
- Time to reflect and learn together

Hosted by Mellow Parenting and welcomed by CEO Raquib Ibrahim, Mellow Up! is a chance for Accredited Practitioners to reconnect with the values at the heart of relationship-based practice while gaining fresh tools and perspectives to support families.

We look forward to welcoming you for a day of learning, connection, and shared practice. Find out more: https://www.mellowparenting.org/news/news/mellow-up--stirling-10-august/

1 in 10 dads experience postnatal depression.

Most will never be asked about it. Many won’t seek help. And far too few will ever access a group programme designed with them in mind.

Our Mellow Dads-to-Be and Mellow Dads programmes support fathers when it matters most: during pregnancy and in the early months of parenthood. When fathers thrive, children thrive. Let’s reach more dads this June.

A baby’s mental health begins with relationships. When infants experience warm, responsive and nurturing care, they develop the secure foundations they need to grow, learn and thrive. 💝

For more than 25 years, Mellow Parenting has worked alongside Practitioners and families around the world to strengthen parent-infant relationships and support emotional wellbeing from the first 1001 critical days of life.

This Infant Mental Health Awareness Week, we are focusing on attunement, the ability to tune in and connect with others on an emotional level.

Attunement helps babies to feel important, safe, and loved. Attuned relationships support both infant and parental wellbeing and help babies get off to the very best start in life - a mission that’s at the core of our vision.

Since 1991, COPE Scotland has worked alongside communities, centring lived experience to develop resources that support mental health and wellbeing. Their work offers practical self-care and self-management approaches to help people navigate life’s challenges and reduce emotional distress.

As part of a carefully planned exit strategy, COPE Scotland has generously entrusted these resources to Mellow Parenting, ensuring that practitioners, parents, and children can continue to benefit from this important work.

We are deeply grateful for this support and honoured to carry forward this legacy, keeping it grounded in its original ethos and values.
