Rain may have replaced last year’s sunshine, but the spirit of our Ladies’ Open Day shone through.
Twenty‑nine teams took to the moorland on 18 June, embracing the elements with the good humour and resilience that define West of Scotland golf.
The Tri‑Am format produced excellent scoring despite the conditions.
Winners (78 pts) — Whitecraigs GC: Winnie Burns, Rona Orr & Susan Calman.
2nd (75 pts) — Whitecraigs GC: Rhona McColl, Morag Clifford & Julie Capaldi.
3rd (72 pts) — Bearsden & Dullater: Kirsty Garrett, Isabel Stoke & Rita McLaughlin, who battled the very worst of the weather and still finished smiling.
Longest Drives: Carole Whyte (Barassie) & Jennifer Antliff (Whitecraigs).
Nearest the Pins: Mandy Allan (Cardross) & Elizabeth Finlay (Williamwood).
A remarkable £1,178 was raised for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice — a testament to the generosity of all who took part.
Our thanks go to the East Ren team — Barry and the greens staff, Jen in the office, Stewart, Blaire & Gavin in the pro shop, Taylor, Ryan, Hannah and our catering team, and Biddy & Diane for the beautiful floral touches.
And to our East Ren ladies, whose warmth, organisation and hospitality continue to uphold the tradition of East Ren.
A true ERGC team effort highlighting the community spirit.
Thank you
Eileen and Mary
