BOXING SCOTLAND are delighted to share the dates for National Championships for the next two seasons.

This season's events kick off with the Development A Championships, starting on Saturday 24th October 2026, and concludes with the Elite Golden Gloves Finals on Saturday 20th March 2027.

The 2027-28 season will also see the same pattern of Development A Championships in October, Development B-E Championships in January and the Golden Gloves Championships in February/March.

All dates will take place at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell.

Please be reminded that the Early Bird Offer for a reduced affiliation fee for the 2026-27 season is set to expire at the end of this month.

Clubs which are fully affiliated prior to 1st September 2026 have their affiliation fee capped at £200, with it rising to £250 from September 1st onward.

More than 110 clubs have already completed the affiliation process, with just a small minority yet to do so.

SCOTLAND’S Aaron Sarwar returned home to Northwest Amateur Boxing Club in Kilmarnock this week to show off his newly won European Under-19 Championships Bronze medal.

The Flyweight boxer won three high calibre contests at the competition in Loznica, Serbia as he reached the 50kg Semi-Finals.

Aaron becomes the first Scot to medal at the European U19 (Youth) Championships since Sam Hickey in 2018, and just the 12th in history, as he joins an exclusive list that also includes the likes of Scott Harrison and Sean Lazzerini.

𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐨𝐱 𝐂𝐮𝐩 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝

Entries for the first Box Cup of the 2026-27 season, the Robert Burns Box Cup, have closed early after the event reached full capacity.

The competition is set to be hosted by Doonhamers Amateur Boxing Club on the weekend of Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September 2026 at Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries, with Boxing Scotland supporting the event by way of organising entries and payments.

More than 250 entries from across Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales have been received for the event, which has categories for both Open Class and Development boxers.

A small number of clubs have yet to make payment for the event. For any club yet to do so, please complete payment by 5pm on Tuesday 1st September 2026 at the link below or these entries will be released;

𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑: 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬

Please be reminded that Boxing Scotland will be hosting three Seminars for current and new Officials next month.

Two of these course will be a pre-season professional development seminar for current registered Officials (including probationary Officials who have already had some training), which is designed to refresh, update, and strengthen officiating knowledge and practical skills in line with the latest rules, standards, and best practices.

These Seminars will both be conducted online via Microsoft Teams from 6:30pm-8:30pm on the evenings of Thursday 3rd September and Tuesday 8th September. Both evenings will cover the same subjects, so there is no need to attend both.

Additionally, there will be an in-person Seminar held at the Boxing Scotland High Performance Centre in Bridgeton, Glasgow for people who are interested in becoming an Official for the first time.

This could include people who are new to the sport, or individuals within clubs who do not currently act as an Official ie Coaches/Committee Members.

This will take place on Saturday 5th September from 10am-3pm at Boxing Scotland High Performance Centre, Olympia Theatre, 2 Orr Street, Bridgeton, Glasgow, G40 2QH.

Scotland’s Aaron Sarwar will return home from the European Under-19 Championships with a Bronze medal.

The Northwest boxer lost out on points to the cagey and unorthodox Kristian Jubani from Ireland in their 50kg Flyweight Semi-Final in Loznica, Serbia.

It has been a great tournament from the young Scot, after winning three bouts against opposition from Poland, England and Ukraine.

Sarwar becomes the first Scottish boxer since Sam Hickey in 2018 to medal at the European Under-19 (Youth) Championships.
