What a weekend! Fantastic tennis, brilliant sportsmanship, plenty of long rallies, and to be honest, some of the matches were so entertaining they were better than watching the pros playing at Roland Garros😆

🏆 Congratulations to our French Open Champions:
🔴 Mini Red (8U) – Pippa Docherty
🟠 Mini Orange (9U) – Finn Miller
🟢 Mini Green (10U) – Nikita Barkov

A huge well done to every player who stepped onto the court and gave it their all. The confidence, determination, and improvement on display were amazing to see.

Thanks to all the parents and supporters for bringing the energy and creating a brilliant atmosphere throughout the tournament.

Next up: Wimbledon! Time to dust off the grass-court game and get those entries in. 🎾🌱

🎾🇫🇷 BEARSDEN FRENCH OPEN TENNIS TOURNAMENT – THIS WEEKEND! 🇫🇷🎾

With the French Open capturing the world’s attention, we’re excited to be hosting our very own French Open Tennis Tournament at Bearsden Lawn Tennis Club this weekend!

This fun and friendly event is open to players of all ages and abilities, making it the perfect opportunity to experience match play, meet other members, and enjoy some competitive tennis in a fun environment.

Whether you’re new to tournaments or already enjoy playing matches, taking part is a fantastic way to:

🔢 Learn how to score matches independently
🤔 Develop tactical and decision-making skills
💪 Build confidence under pressure
🧑‍🤝‍🧑Meet and play with other club members
🥰 Experience the fun and excitement of competition

📅 Tournament Schedule

Saturday 6 June – Singles Events
🔴 Mini Red (8 & Under): 11:00am – 12:30pm
🟠 Mini Orange (9 & Under): 12:30pm – 2:00pm
🟢 Mini Green (10 & Under): 12:30pm – 2:00pm

Sunday 7 June – Doubles Event
🎾 Junior & Adult Doubles Tournament: 2:00pm – 4:30pm

For the doubles event, you can enter with a partner or individually and we’ll pair players together on the day.

Our focus is very much on participation, enjoyment, and gaining match experience, so we encourage everyone to get involved regardless of playing level.

🏆🎾 Mini Red Tennis Tournament Success! 🎾🏆

What a fantastic day on the courts at our Mini Red Tennis Tournament! We welcomed 17 young players who competed with great enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event.

The standard of tennis was excellent, with players showing great improvement and putting their training into practice in a competitive environment. It was brilliant to see so many exciting rallies, positive attitudes, and growing confidence throughout the day.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to all the parents and supporters who helped make the event such a success. 👏

Last year at Play Your Way to Wimbledon we had a heatwave… this year we experienced some of the worst hail showers I’ve ever seen! 🌧️❄️🎾

Despite the challenging conditions, congratulations to all of the U14 boys for completing their competition on time.

The final between Hamish Leslie and Ben Harding was a fantastic advert for the future of Bearsden LTC. It was played in a competitive but friendly spirit, with both players producing some excellent tennis throughout.

Congratulations to Hamish Leslie on winning the U14 title, and best of luck at the regional tournament in June! 👏🎾

A huge well done as well to Ben Harding, who battled through the early rounds and played brilliantly in the final to become a very deserving runner-up.

We also received a record-breaking number of entries across the other draws, so some matches have been extended and will now be completed by 23rd May.

Good luck to all remaining competitors — I look forward to seeing the rest of the results come in
