Tenants are now moving into their new homes as part of a phased summer handover at the £20m former Bellgrove Hotel regeneration project in Glasgow’s East End, marking a significant milestone for one of the city’s most distinctive residential developments.
Delivered by CCG (Scotland) and designed by Collective Architecture Architecture on behalf of Lowther, part of Wheatley Developments Group, the development has breathed new life into the iconic Grade B-listed Bellgrove Hotel while creating 70 low-carbon homes for mid-market rent.
‘Bellgrove’ brings together building conservation, modern construction methods, and low-carbon technology, including a Kensa ground-source heat pump system, and demonstrates how historic buildings can be successfully reimagined to meet today’s housing needs and create lasting value for the community.
The impact of the development has also extended well beyond the homes themselves. Throughout construction, CCG created 10 new employment opportunities, welcomed 8 apprentices, delivered 13 work placements and generated more than £52,000 of community investment as a direct result of the project, ensuring local people have shared in the benefits of this important regeneration project.
