SUKC Round 7 β The Finale π
We went into the final round just 2 points ahead of Edinburgh Napier, knowing it would take everything to hold onto the championship.
Qualifying didnβt go our way. Heat A lined up: Adam Morrell P4, Matthew Bromley P7, Ethan McGee P10, Aidan Glennon P11, Daniel Tatarenko P14, Struan Kingdom P15. Heat B followed with Charlie Spence P6, Cayden Wilson P9, Freddie Kinder P12, Maks Inkster P16. Meanwhile, Napier locked out the front row in Heat A and had 2 other drivers in the top 4 overall.
However, the races told a different story.
In Heat A, Adam Morrell spent the race in the battle for the podium, coming away with a crucial P3. Matthew Bromley backed it up with a really strong P6, while Aidan Glennon (P8), Daniel Tatarenko (P9), Struan Kingdom (P11) and Ethan McGee (P13) all delivered important performances in a tightly contested field. However, Napier performed just as well, so it was up to Heat B to decide the championship...
Charlie Spence produced an absolutely phenomenal drive to win Heat B, his second win of the season! With Freddie Kinder securing P3, his first podium of SUKC whilst gaining 10 positions from his quali position, and Cayden Wilson adding more vital points in P5. Maks Inkster rounded things off in P14.
We had clawed it back. Strathclyde are SUKC Champions. ππ₯
From 2 points ahead at the beginning, to being champions upon the final chequered flag β a complete team effort. Every driver, every position, every point mattered.
What a fantastic way to end the season, and a special thank you to for being such an awesome competitor!
