Ryans Bike Surgery-Thomson Homes Two local businesses have got together to form a new cycle racing team.

Ryan’s Bike Surgery and Thomson Homes team comprises six riders and will focus mainly on road racing but will also compete in Time Trials and Cross Country Mountain Bike races.

Some words from our Ross Creber, winner of the

Last year I went into the Celtman XTRI world series race held in Torridon in the N.W of Scotland with my main goal being to just complete the 3.4km swim, 202km Bike and 42km Mountain Marathon, much to my delight not only did I complete the event, I achieved the overall win.
I went to this years Celtman better prepared than last year, with better base training behind me and I felt I had great form. I entered the swim which I find my weakest discipline due to lack of training facilities near where I live but a smooth swim placed me only 15 minutes behind 1st place which I was confident about closing such a gap on the 202km bike ride that has such stunning scenery, which I did and extended my lead going into the run. Ian Stewart, my pace runner, done an incredible job over the 42km run and we extended my lead but not without a small mishap. I lost my footing whilst searching for food in my bum bag which resulted in a deep gash to my right knee and with nothing but my t-shirt to use as a bandage we covered the wound until next checkpoint. This win felt amazing with all the support crew around me including my wife Jess and my children Struan and Fionn.
Now on to the World Championships in August.
