NEWLANDS 12 - 1 Bishopton FC

Simply wonderful….League season finished, 12 goals scored.

A complete team performance last night from the first whistle to the last. There were some really nice passages of play that were a joy to watch. Some individual cracking strikes from distance mixed in with some well-worked team goals - a fantastic way to finish our league campaign😮‍💨.

We’ve now got to hope for a couple of results to go our way for us to win the league, but in the words of big Marv - KEEP BELIEVIN 🙏🏻!

🚨 FINAL RESULT 🚨

NEWLANDS 5 - 1 Corinthians

The boys were on the front foot from the first minute and deservedly took a 1-0 lead after 10 mins. We then conceded a sloppy goal from a nice counter attack that left it 1-1 at HT.

2nd half we continued our pressing game and managed to make it 2-1 via a well dispatched penalty. After that, we continued to pile on the pressure and create chances and ultimately seen the game out comfortably with a 5-1 victory.

MOTM 🏆- William Stalker - 4 goals, constant nuisance for the Corinthians defence. Clinic up top from the big man 👏🏻 ⚽⚽⚽⚽.

🚨 FINAL RESULT 🚨

NEWLANDS 5 - 2 Lokomotiv Glasgow A.F.C

Into the final we go! We didn’t have the best start to the game and found ourselves 1-0 down after 20 mins. The boys reacted fairly quickly and rallied well to get into half time at 1-1 and by far the dominant side in possession.

Onto the second half, we continued to dominate the ball and managed to get the crucial second goal. From there we kicked on and put the game to bed going 5-1 up. Some sloppy play led to a late consolation for Lokos, with us running out deserved winners on the day and into a 2nd consecutive final 👏🏻.

Goals ⚽️ - Stalker x 2, McFarlane x 2 & Boland.

MOTM 🏆 - DOM VAUGHAN. Our resident hobbit has found some form of late and put in another classy performance in the middle of the park. Broke down the opposition play, ran tirelessly for 70 mins and was effective part of the attacking build up play 👏🏻.

The final will take place on Saturday 18th May 🏆. UP THE NEWLANDS 🔵⚪️!

After a great result last week in the quarter finals we are looking to kick on and earn our place in the final this weekend. It’s always a right battle against Lokos, and the boys are right up for it!

Newlands 3 - 2 Pollok United

Into the semi finals we go 🏆 👏🏻. Wasn’t the best of games to watch with the blustering wind, but the boys dug deep and got the job done. Could have easily scored a few more to kill the game off on another day, but credit to all involved as we managed the game well to secure our spot in the semis next weekend. Big shout out to our keeper Darren who had 2/3 world class saves 🧤!

MOTM 🏆- Darren Fellows & Dom Vaughan. Hard to call between these two, with both deserving of the award. Darren was tremendous between the sticks, and Dom consistently broke down the Pollok play and was an engine in the middle of the park 💪🏽.
