gave me a chipping lesson!

If you’ve watched the Par 18 Challenge video on YouTube you’ll notice some sketchy chipping from me (if you’ve not watched it, check it out in my previous posts).

Some of this stems from a lack of golf for a while and limitations from injury/surgery, however a couple of tweaks had me chipping better instantly.

Watch the full (quick) lesson on YouTube at the link below: https://youtu.be/1tLmXH6INEU?is=X6pQAxskSKKJq1ah

Let me know your thoughts and what you’d like to see next!

Picked the wrong day to video content 🌧️☔️

Loving being able to get back out to practice, figuring out where I am at and building up movement again. Some things to be cleaned up but progress is progress.

It’s been a while but we are back on YouTube!

Nick and I take on a Par 18 Challenge with 3 easy, 3 medium and 3 difficult shots around the greens. Fair to say a fair amount of rust was on display and practice required but some decent stuff as well.

My journey back to fitness and golf continues following a second hip arthroscopy surgery 2 months ago.

After tearing my labrum in March last year, I have been unable to play golf since which is difficult being in a golf environment every day. Plenty others who have injury issues or require surgery will understand this frustration but it’s a process that requires patience to keep improving a bit at a time.

Similar to improving your golf, it requires time, consistent effort and ambition to get to where you want to be.

I’m back with a full coaching schedule so get in contact for in-person coaching at Cawder or online via Skillest to start your journey to better golf.

Common issues I see in lessons!

Trying all sorts of swing tips or looking to change swing positions without having awareness of current impact and ball flight tendencies.

Take note of your current ball flight, strike location and ground contact to help guide what is wrong before diving into changes on swing positions.

If you are unsure of your tendencies or need help improving them, get in contact to see how I can help either in-person at Cawder or online via .

Approach play strategy during an on-course lesson.

98y to a front flag only 4y on, with a rise up to the green. Playing into a fairly strong wind.

To avoid risk of coming up short I wanted the ball to finish 5y past the flag. Adjusting for the wind I asked for to play for a 110y shot. Executed very well, finishing 6y past.

It’s easy to get cute with front flags and come up short, especially into the wind. Give yourself a good enough margin for error to avoid any unforced errors.

Reach out if you need help with your approach strategy.

In-person and online coaching.

A key feature of development is more regular feedback in smaller manageable chunks. Using the follow up session, I am able to see exactly what the player is working on, if he’s implementing the changes as required or needs additional feedback. Here he has executed the task perfectly.

If you’re committed to improving your game, this extra step is a game changer, either in addition to in-person feedback or online only.
