Twenty goals, two awards and just 10 years old.
Kaiden Gemmill has finished his first season in the Scottish Premiership as the winner of the Premiership Top Goalscorer Award and the Colin Shields Cup - Young Player of the Year Award.
Scoring 20 goals across all competitions is an outstanding achievement in any season but to do so at only 10 years old, whilst competing against some of the most experienced players in Scottish Powerchair Football, including Scotland internationals, makes it even more remarkable.
Across just 17 games this season, Kaiden scored 20 goals:
⚽ 9 Premiership goals
⚽ 6 League Cup goals
⚽ 5 Scottish Cup goals
His ability, composure and eye for goal earned him the Premiership Top Goalscorer Award but what makes his second accolade particularly special is that the Colin Shields Cup Young Player of the Year Award recognises far more than footballing ability alone.
The award also celebrates qualities such as sportsmanship, integrity, resilience and respect. To compete in the Scottish Premiership with such maturity, humility and consistency is something truly deserving of recognition.
We could not be any prouder of Kaiden. Not only for the goals and awards he has achieved, but for the way he represents himself, his teammates and FC United every time he takes to the court.
Kaiden continues to break barriers, inspire those around him and show what is possible for the next generation of players coming through the sport. We are incredibly proud of everything he has achieved this season and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Congratulations, Kaiden. A thoroughly deserved winner and a very special player. 💜🤍🩵
