Let’s be honest it’s a joy as much as it’s a bit of a C…!

As the mentalness approaches at speed it can def feel like you’ve been smashed in the face with Santas big Sack (😉)

We each have our own ways of coping.
Some embrace the joys head-on at full speed and some fear the light it will cast over any pain pain we are dealing with.

The thing is. December is a whole lot.
And life is already a whole lot.
So many of us can be pushed to the edge of our limits.

Some find this season so hard that they are strongly swathed in survival mode…..
The instinct to hide from it all is louder than any peer pressure and the fear the overwhelm of other people’s frivolity and joy rubbing up against their loss.

B U T

It’s just so lovely to see the joy!
Everyone should and deserves to feel it!
I think just being mindful that not every soul we pass, at this point, is indeed feeling it.

Simple kindnesses are never wrong.

Im gonna keep trying to see this season as a chance to remember what this life ( and Christmas ) is all about - love.

And suddenly the interval got skipped.
The ride got buggered.
The session felt like a fail.

A few dimes of truth coming at you … listen up!

Life happens.
Plans shift.
Energy dips.

Pushing your training
Pushing performance
Pushing for control

Ohh I get it.!!
The bike is where I ground myself, it’s where

find

again
It’s where I breathe.

But listen,
Come closer - ears open…
A nervous system stuck in overdrive is not fun.
Rest is, well….. biology, it ain’t optional.

This week…. I’m trying to listen as my body whispers for me to hear it before it needs to shout.

Some days we need more KM’s
Some days we need more quiet
Some days we need to just ‘take what we can get’

Today I’m giving what I’m able to……. Tomorrows a new story 🤘🏽
