Week 8 of London Marathon training went like this:

Cut back week but that gave me a shiny new 5k PB alongside my amazing friend

Monday - hike
Tuesday - 2 x 6k easy and strength
Wednesday - 10k easy commute
Thursday - rest - celebrating my friend with some pottery & lots of wine
Friday - 5k warm up, 5k race, 5k cool down
Sat - rest
Sun - 19k easy and strength

Bit of a foot ni**le at the minute that seems to be exasperated by too aggressive shoes so a few extra rest days this week. Hoping it chills out this coming week.

Grateful for the journey. Proud of the results!

January. What a rollercoaster. Redundancy, two weeks with Mum in hospital and somehow a whole wallop of running and family life in there too.

Lille this weekend was a wonderful line resetting this chapter. I’m ready for the next chapter 📖

An honest check of where I’m at fitness wise this morning. 21:38 at Keswick parkrun which is fast although not especially flat.

Looking forward to the gains to come.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Not my day. It was hard from 15k. I told myself I wouldn’t walk and I kept that promise. Very proud of not drop out. I don’t think I’d ever recommend having a tough personal weeks and then trying to run a marathon. But we live to fight another day. Marathon no 44 done.

Also kept reminding myself out there that a couple of years ago 3:49 would be a dream time not a car crash time…

And there is always champagne 🍾🥂
