Medway Madness vs Guildford Smoke

Medway Madness secured a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Guildford Smoke in an exciting and closely contested game.

Madness came out strong and opened the scoring early in the first period through Miro Kruzliak, giving the team an early boost. Guildford Smoke pushed back with plenty of pressure, but solid defensive work and key saves kept Medway in the lead.

In the second period, Miro stepped up again for Medway Madness, finding the back of the net to extend the lead and give Madness control of the game. Dan Rae got his name on the scoresheet with a 3rd goal to end the Madness’ scoring.

Guildford Smoke battled hard and managed to pull the score back to 3–2, setting up a tense finish in the final period. With the pressure mounting late in the game, the Madness defence held firm to see out the victory.

A huge performance in goal from Stuart Long, whose crucial saves throughout the game helped secure the win and earned him Man of the Match.

👏 A great team effort and a well-deserved result for Medway Madness.

A fast start but a tough battle in the middle periods for the boys this weekend.
⚡ 1st Period – Strong Start
Madness came out flying!
🚨 2:36 – Jack Lake opened the scoring unassisted.
🚨 4:32 – Alex Cross doubled the lead, assisted by Grant Baxter.
Spartans pulled one back late in the period, but Madness showed intent early on.
💥 2nd Period – Momentum Shift
Solent came back hard, putting several past us in quick succession.
⚡ Powerplay goal at 36:36 from Steven Wheeler, assisted by Dan Rae.
⚡ 39:42 – Christopher Gruber finished nicely, assisted by Jack Lake.
The fight was there
🥊 3rd Period – Grit to the End
Spartans added one more early in the third.
Despite penalties and heavy pressure, Madness battled right to the final buzzer.

🏒 Medway Madness vs Chelmsford Nighthawks

What a game… an absolute rollercoaster from start to finish! 💥

1st Period

Medway Madness came out flying and Florent opened the scoring early to put Madness 1-0 up 🙌
But Chelmsford pushed back hard and managed to swing the momentum late in the period, scoring two quick goals to take the lead 2-1 heading into the break.

2nd Period

Chelmsford carried that pressure into the second and extended their lead to 3-1.
But Madness weren’t done! Miro sparked the comeback with a huge goal to make it 3-2 🔥

Chelmsford answered back again, pushing it to 4-2, but Miro wasn’t letting this one go and buried another to bring it back to 4-3 by the end of the second period 💪💣

Final Period

The third period was an all-out battle — end to end, full intensity, with both teams giving everything.

Medway Madness dug deep and with less than a minute left, they found the equaliser to level it at 4-4 and secure a well-earned draw! ⚡️👏

Medway Madness are in action at home in Gillingham tonight as they take on Chelmsford Nighthawks.

It's been a few years since Madness last took on a very strong Nighthawks team in Chelmsford with Madness suffering a loss. Nighthawks are in a rebuilding phase so will be a bit of an unknown quantity, the game will serve as a good warm up to get the team sharp ahead of our upcoming run of cup games.

Face off is 8.15pm at Planet Ice Gillingham, admission is free.
