We are a small, friendly, dedicated Martial Arts Club, training every Wednesday in the New Scout Community Hall, Milton on Stour, Gillingham, Dorset

Gillingham Lau Gar is the longest established Kung Fu Club in Dorset.
Specialising in traditional Kung Fu, ranging from basic set movements, to weapons and free fighting (semi contact sparring)
Instructor Andy Tatum, a 5th Degree Black Sash in Kung Fu has been Training in the style for over 30 years. He regularly travels to train with his own Instructors to ensure continuity in his teaching.

Grandmaster Yau bought the style to the Uk in 1961, and 1973 set up The British Kung Fu Association.
Although more popular for the tournament Kickboxing side, the strength and foundation comes from the traditional empty hand forms, two person drills and traditional weapons.

Gradings progress from White, blue, orange, green, yellow, purple, brown and black and during that time, weapons such as knife, Bo Staff, Sword, Butterfly Knives, Spear, Guandao and Shield are introduced.
LauGar is a facininating, traditional Martial Art, that with dedication and discipline you can learn from throughout life.
