Come and learn proper relaxation as a skill. Simply lie down and be guided into allowing the body to rediscover its innate state of deep nervous system balance.

Rather than forcing your mind to focus (like some traditional seated meditations), Yoga Nidra uses an effortless, systematic approach to quiet the nervous system.

Yoga Nidra is great if you are feeling stressed, emotional, overwhelmed, in need of a good night’s sleep, want to prevent burnout, or simply enjoy this beautiful practice.

Yoga mats are provided at Sun Kissed, so all you need to do is bring yourself, and anything you need to feel comfortable lying down (blanket, socks, eye pillow, for example).

Treat yourself to a deep rest.

Are you tired, stressed, overthinking, or want a better night's sleep?

Take an hour for yourself to do a guided Deep Rest session that will relax your mind and body more effectively than a nap.

No yoga or meditation experience is needed. You don’t have to sit still or clear your mind first.

We use a practice called Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra works even if your mind is busy. It’s an easy, therapeutic practice used in clinical settings to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and help with burnout. It’s like pressing a reset button on your nervous system.

And all you need to do is lie down and listen.​

We do postures (asana), breathwork (pranayama) and end with a guided relaxation (yoga nidra).
All the movements can be adapted to suit your body. You do not have to be flexible. You do not need to be skinny. You do not need to be a certain age.

As the sun moves back towards us, very much making its presence felt - at least here in North Dorset! - come 'salute' its return into our lives with a 2 hour Sun Salutation workshop with me at Sorelle in Motcombe.

Sun Salutations (in Sanskrit Surya Namaskara) are a staple of many yoga style practices and you will encounter them at the beginning of many classes, especially if you practice flowing styles of yoga.

In this workshop, give yourself the opportunity and time to learn how to place the body in each posture (asana), adapting each one to feel the most comfortable for you. Learn how to easefully move from one posture to the next, and how to co-ordinate your breath with the movement so that you come away feeling energised and confident.

The workshop runs from 10am - noon on Saturday 28th March and I have 2 spaces left. Join us for coffee, tea and something delicious in the gorgeous Sorelle cafe afterwards!

Yoga Workshop!

Calling all sun worshippers! As we pass through the Spring Equinox, come and learn to salute the return of the sun in style!

Surya namaskara - or sun salutation - is the cornerstone of many yoga practices whether you usually choose a fast or a slower-paced yoga class.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the mechanics of a Hatha yoga sun salutation sequence (see the illustration below), placing the body carefully, adapting the poses to suit your own body. You’ll work up to a steady, rhythmic practice, breathing deeply and consciously, and shift energy around the body as you move - invoking a felt sense of your own magnificent solar power!

Surya Namaskara is a vitalizing practice, beneficial for the whole body, utilising full engagement of the muscles and joints throughout. After this workshop, you will definitely feel that you have shaken off the last remnants of the winter and stepped into the energy of Springtime!

I have spaces left for my next series of weekly traditional Hatha yoga classes at Sorelle in Motcombe, beginning on Wednesday 4th March 9.15am - 10.30am.

They are accessible, unhurried classes where we move mindfully with our breath through slow and static postures, inviting deeper connection with our inner and outer world. We take time to rest and recalibrate mind, body and spirit as we go, and end with a long, guided rest to integrate the practice.

Drop in is available at £12 per class, or buy a discounted bundle of 4 classes for £46. You need to book your spot in advance.

This is an opportunity to access a state of deep nervous system reset, incredibly restorative - and all you have to do is lie down!
