Big well done Girls! Super Proud! 🐍

7th June – Essex Open Tournament

Our U10 Kobras took part in their first-ever tournament at the Essex Open. Pearl captained the team, while Emily was our impact player for the day.

The girls went into the competition with a mixture of excitement and nerves. Unfortunately, they narrowly lost their first two games by just one or two goals. However, they didn’t let their heads drop. They maintained their energy, determination, and resilience, which led to an incredible run of five consecutive wins.

There were outstanding interceptions from Caitlyn, Brooke, and Emily, while Kara delivered excellent one-on-one defensive pressure. Vi demonstrated great positional play and fed some fantastic balls into the circle. Pearl was a constant source of energy across the court, contributing brilliantly in both attack and defence.

Our incredible shooters Emma & Imogen worked tirelessly in the circle, creating space and converting opportunities to score an impressive total of 45 goals throughout the tournament.

The team displayed unbelievable spirit, friendship, teamwork, and determination from start to finish.

In their very first tournament, the girls achieved an incredible 4th place finish out of 10 teams, a fantastic accomplishment and a reflection of their hard work, resilience, and team spirit throughout the day.

The standard of play was outstanding, and the girls should be extremely proud of everything they achieved. We certainly are!

A huge thank you to our umpire, Teresa, for giving up her time to support us, and to all the parents who make organising and attending these events so easy.

Special shout-outs also go to Coach Peter and Coach Chloe for being the best, and to our scorer, Isabelle, for all her hard work throughout the day.

Well done, Kobras!🐍

🏐 Congratulations to Platinum U14’s tournament squad who proudly represented us at the Leyton Netball Club Tournament during the half-term break in what turned out to be an ultra hot day ☀️ 🩶

This was the first time Platinum has entered this tournament, and we’re incredibly proud to share, that the team finished as Runners-Up! 🥈

A huge well done to the 10 players who were selected to take part. They showed fantastic teamwork, determination, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the day, representing us brilliantly both on and off the court.

Opportunities like this allow different players to gain valuable tournament experience alongside our regular league fixtures.

Thank you’s go to Leyton Netball Club for hosting a fantastic event, to all our Platinum families for their support and to Natalie Wells & Mel Saunders for being our umpire and scorer on the day!

Well done, girls — a wonderful achievement and a great way to spend the half-term break! 💙🖤

To be penalised as contact, the physical contact must result in:
Loss of the ball by an opponent in possession.
Interference with the passing or shooting action of an opponent in possession.
A change or changes in the body position of an opponent, regardless of whether the opponent is in possession, which prevents their ability to move freely and places them at an unfair disadvantage in attacking, defending or playing the ball.

Respect starts with communication. 💜💚

At the interval, only the team captain should approach the umpire and always in a calm and respectful way focused on rule clarification, not challenging decisions.

Please see this simple tool prepare by Ipswich Netball to help players understand how to best approach umpires and ask appropriate questions during the game.

Positive conversations help our umpires officiate with confidence and create a better game-day experience for everyone involved.

💖 Team spirit at its finest 💖

Even though Clara from our Pink Crystals squad is currently sidelined with injury, she still turned up proudly wearing her kit to cheer on her teammates from the sidelines. 🩷

This is what being part of a team is all about — commitment, positivity, resilience and supporting each other no matter what. Clara’s smile says it all, and we couldn’t be prouder of the example she sets for the whole club. 🌟

Wishing you a speedy recovery Clara — your Pink Crystals family is right behind you every step (and crutch!) of the way 💪✨
